It wasn’t only trots though, as Don was ‘clerk’ at Benalla and Seymour gallops on a regular basis.

There was never a bad word said about Don who was described as ‘a gentleman in every way’ according to lifetime friends Peter and Matthew Berger.

Don’s funeral will be held in Benalla on Monday November 11 at 11.30 am at the N J Todd Chapel.

Harness Racing Victoria and the Wangaratta HRC extends condolences to the Dowell family.
