Vale Robert Owen

Echuca Harness Racing Club has advised that Robert Owen, a long-time member and successful trots owner, has passed away.

Mr Owen’s been an active member over many years, serving on the committee and helping the club, including on race days.

He’s a life member and, unofficially, the club’s historian.

Mr Owen had many winners as an owner, including with Stress Factor, winner of the J A Connelly Crystal Bucket this year, and Sicario, winner of the Moama Bowling Club Echuca Pacing Cup in 2020.

Mr Owen has supported the Echuca club for many years and will be missed by many people in the industry.

Funeral details:

Mr Owen’s funeral is to be held at 11am on Friday at Radcliffe’s, 2-10 Radcliffe St, Echuca.

Echuca Cricket Club and Football Club will host a live screening of the funeral at the Victoria Park Oval on Friday Morning, with viewing areas inside and out.

They are providing this in expectation of a large number of people whose lives were touched by Mr Owen over the years and wish to pay respects.
