Another fantastic night's racing in the Vicbred Super Series, tonight featuring the Empire Stallions pacing races for three-year-old boys and girls from Kilmore.

Cody Winnell is on track to chat with all the winning drivers on Trots Vision in the moments after their runners' salute.

Empire Stallions Vicbred Super Series 3YO colts and geldings first heat

1st: Major Times (Art Major/Live Or Die)

Trainer Emma Stewart

Driver Chris Alford:

"He was really good," Alford told TrotsVision. "His form this season has been really good. He ran third in the New South Wales Derby, he had a bit of a heart problem last start which was his only blemish, but he felt really good tonight.

"There was a fair bit of speed on early. The lead time was pretty good and once he got around he was always in control and felt that way."

Empire Stallions Vicbred Super Series 3YO fillies first heat

1st: Ghadastar (Art Major/Arkabar)

Trainer Ahmed Taiba

Driver Damien Wilson:

"I didn't know what to expect, a couple of gallopers early," Wilson told TrotsVision. "We were in a position probably two spots closer that I thought we would be in the run and I think that made all the difference.

"She's a fast horse. I drove her probably not the way I wanted too tonight, having to pull out at the 800, went a bit earlier than I wanted too. I did what I had to do tonight. She is faster than that and with the right trip anything's possible."

Empire Stallions Vicbred Super Series 3YO fillies second heat

1st: Nostra Beach (Somebeachsomewhere/Amarillen)

Trainer Emma Stewart

Driver Chris Alford:

"She just got a bit keen," Alford told TrotsVision. "With about a lap to go she started kicking on the wheel a little bit and she sort of took off a bit harder than I expected. She took a bit out of herself doing that. I thought (Major Occasion) had her at the 100 but she sort of knuckled down really strongly.

"(Second) wasn't a bad result (last Vicbred Super Series), she was beaten by her stablemate Nostra Villa with the same owners and trainers. It was a good result, but she's going just as well now and will be dangerous when it comes to finals."

Empire Stallions Vicbred Super Series 3YO colts and geldings second heat

1st: Ride High (Art Major/All The Magic)

Trainer Emma Stewart

Driver Mark Pitt:

"It was great," Pitt told TrotsVision. "He was pretty slippery the last quarter. He had a little bit of interuption in the early part of the race but when he got there we were able to control it and he's a beautiful horse.

"Very confident. He's only a lightly raced colt and he's only going to get better with more racing. He's a very good horse the horse that run second (Poster Boy) and it was a great run by both of them."

Empire Stallions Vicbred Super Series 3YO colts and geldings third heat

1st: Liftntorque (Shadow Play/Georgia Cracker)

Trainer Emma Stewart

Driver Chris Alford:

"He's just a lovely little horse," Alford told TrotsVision. "He's got great gate speed, which puts him up into the race and when he can find the front he's always hard to run down. Phillip Walters' horse come around and put on a solid tempo, but this little fellow he always travelled well and he had a good kick at the top of the straight.

"He's maybe not quite up with the Poster Boys and the one's like that, but following them he will be really hard to beat."

Empire Stallions Vicbred Super Series 3YO fillies third heat

1st: Nostra Villa (Art Major/Crystal Journey)

Trainer Emma Stewart

Driver Chris Alford:

"She's a super filly," Alford told TrotsVision. "Mick (Stanley's) filly (Soho Burning Love) was really good. He put it to her and she just got the better of him the last little bit. Her run was super and going forward to the semis and finals she's looking good.

"The third quarter was pretty quick. It probably just took a little bit of sting out of the leader. She just had a little bit better kick when we got into the straight. They still broke 28 on the way home, so they both went super.

"She's a super filly. She just gives her all, that's all you can ask. I think she's only missed a place once, that's when she had a hard run in the Oaks and I think she's going a lot better now."

Empire Stallions Vicbred Super Series 3YO colts and geldings fourth heat

1st: Konan (Mach Three/Christians Daughter)

Trainer Emma Stewart

Driver Chris Alford:

"He had a nice easy lead and travelled comfortably," Alford told TrotsVision. "He really dashed up the straight really well. He's a really nice horse.

"There wouldn't be a lot between them. Draws come down to it a lot. He's big and strong and he came make his own luck. He'll do really well in the semis and final I think.

"He has his little wayward traits, but he's so much better than he used to be when he first started off. Now he relaxes really well and gets the job done."

Empire Stallions Vicbred Super Series 3YO colts and geldings fifth heat

1st: Kasbah Kid (Art Major/Kabbalah Karen B)

Trainer Geoff Webster

Driver Greg Sugars:

"I nearly feel bad for upsetting the Stewart-Alford combination, but no it was terrific," Sugars told TrotsVision. "It's been a great night's racing, they are very quality horses and great to be a part of it.

"We thought he looked well placed tonight. He's had a good preparation. He's got a few quirks about him. He's not the greatest gaited horse at times, but he's certainly got his share of ability and he's shown that from day one, his body probably just wasn't mature enough to handle racing as a juvenile. He's certainly come a long way this preparation and hopefully he will continue to do that in the future.

"I think he's going to be a bit of an opportunist against the best ones, but tonight I was quite confident once he was able to punch through and hold the front. Obviously our main danger was on our back. The Emma Stewart team, we know how powerful they are, whatever they produce at the races they're always hard to beat. I was just confident if we get a good run that off the back I'd be strong enough or fast enough up the straight to hold it off and that proved to be the case."

Empire Stallions Vicbred Super Series 3YO fillies fourth heat

1st: Speak No Evil (Well Said/Top Tempo)

Trainer Emma Stewart

Driver Chris Alford:

"She's come a long way. Her run in the Vic Oaks was out of this world really and she's just gone on with the job now.

"She felt good. She come off the gate really well, relaxed good and just let her rip up the straight a bit. She did it really comfortable and had a bit left."
