There will be plenty of good Easter cheer on and off the track at Warragul this Sunday, headlined by a battle between Grand Circuit-quality equine athletes.

Fresh off a Mildura triumph, San Carlo will attempt to land a fifth country cup of the season in the Easter Sunday Warragul Downtowner Pacing Bowl Cup, a $35,000 Group 3 long-distance romp that will also be contested by Golden Nugget winner Ana Malak and ever-consistent veteran Flaming Flutter.

Now in Dean Braun's camp, Ana Malak is an enticing wildcard to bring to a close the Trots Country Cups Championship, but the lightly-raced winner of eight of his 10 starts has yet to meet a proven performer the likes of San Carlo.

Warragul Harness Racing Club operations co-ordinator Des Hughes said there would be plenty on offer for all with an eight-race card, free entry and an abundance of children's activities.

"(The Easter Cup) has been very successful over a number of years," Mr Hughes told RSN's One Out One Back. "We've got a lot planned this coming Easter. We start about 12 o'clock and have a really good program."

Among the offerings is a modestly-priced dining package.

"$40 a person gets a two-course meal, couple of drink vouchers, racebook, entry and we've got a really exciting punters' club planned with legend Bill Glover doing our tipping competition," Mr Hughes said.

"We will have Easter eggs for the kids, a trotting merry-go-round carousel, we've got pony rides, pony trots, fairy floss, face painting, all those things and it's free entry."
