“One of the great races in Australsian harness racing” is how Anthony Butt labelled the Del-Re National A G Hunter Cup in a special preview show ahead of Saturday night’s 2023 staging.
The brilliant reinsman, a winner of seven Hunter Cups, joined Ryan Phelan, Adam Hamilton and Dan Mielicki for the special, which streamed on Racing.com last night and will have an encore at 11pm tonight.
“(They are) awfully hard to win, you need a great horse,” Butt said. “You’ve just got to look at the honour roll and who’s won it, and another one will join the list this week.”
