Less than a fortnight after Better Eclipse altered the pacing landscape with a stunning high-speed finish to capture the Chariots Of Fire, the four-year-old's young stable is hoping to repeat the dose in Saturday's Miracle Mile.
Trainer Jess Tubbs is optimistic the Victorian pacer can continue his ascent and finish fast in the biggest race of his young career.
"We're really happy with how Better Eclipse is going," Tubbs said. "Obviously the Chariots run was terrific and he pulled up really well after that.
"His progression through the classes has just been remarkable. We always knew he was a nice horse, but to see him come this far so quickly has been a bit of a shock to all of us."
Tim O'Connor visited the Tubbs and Greg Sugars' Larajay Farms stable this week ahead of the Miracle Mile and produced the below video.
