On face value last weekend's seminal heroes, Majestuoso and King Of Swing, have little in common.

Majestuoso, who claimed the What The Hill Great Southern Star Final is diminutive with devastating pace, King Of Swing, who dominated the Del-Re National A. G. Hunter Cup is statuesque and strong.

They do share one bond, however, everlasting doubters.

Despite building a resume the equal of most modern-day greats including two Hunter Cups and two Miracle Miles, King Of Swing has rarely received the recognition he deserves.

And now Majestuoso treads an eerily similar path.

Already, with his best still ahead of him, 'Lucky', as he's known at home, has four Group 1 successes to his name and clearly deserves the title of Australia's finest trotter.

Menacingly, however, he's constantly compared - unfavorably - with Kiwi hero Sundees Son, a horse he's never met.

There's also those that claim he needs more fortune than he should.

That's why tonight's Group 1 Aldebaran Park The Knight Pistol at Tabcorp Park bears significant reputational ramifications for the little champ.

Drawn inside the second row against quality rivals, Majestuoso has hovered around the $2.70 mark for most of this week with several rivals seeing support from more benevolent gates.

On one hand, that price is desperately disrespectful.

On another it's indicative of what's required at Tabcorp Park tonight.

If Majestuoso overcomes his unfortunate starting position and simply outclasses talented but inferior adversaries that would be his third elite-level triumph in the space of 15 days.

One win in the breeze (outside the leader), one win in the lead, and one - potentially - from well off the pace.

In sport, racing and life, haters going to hate.

Summoning a reasonable argument that Majestuoso isn't an absolute superstar, however, may not be so easy.

By March 6, most harness fans will require some brand of feature-race detox at an undisclosed location.

In recent months, Victoria has staged the Breeders Crown, Vicbred Super Series and their Summer Of Glory Carnival culminating in last weekend's Great Southern Star and A G Hunter Cup.

Now, without taking a breath, the circus moves to Sydney.

Menangle itself only just held an Inter Dominion series, now they're back in focus with another feature stretch.

Tonight, the Sibelia Stakes and Paleface Adios will help shape fields for the Ladyship Mile and Chariots of Fire respectively.

One week after they are run there'll be the Miracle Mile.

Never in southern hemisphere harness history has there been such an epic compression of our most potent and prestigious racing riches.

Some believe this the way forward, that owning the summer separates us from the gallops, others fear the chasm this intense assault creates.

Either way, enjoy it while it lasts, trot lovers, as it will not last forever.
