Trial File: Unraced Enjoy Life and Signature to note at Melton

Harness racing form guru Craig Rail has identified three runners worth keeping an eye on following recent trials across Victoria.

At Melton, unraced pair Enjoy Life and Signature impressed with their performances and look promising going forward.

Savannah Breeze also made a strong impression at the same venue, finishing off nicely to run a solid second.


MILDURA 15/12/25

Trial 1: – SHALLOW POCKETS began quickly and was able to fire to the lead shortly after the start. He backed off the tempo mid-race and had a good kick left in the run to the finish, winning the trial comfortably. COURTNEY CHARLI finished in second after trailing the leader throughout. BAZZAS LEGACY, an unraced juvenile by Ultimate Sniper, settled three back on the markers and battled on fairly well for third position. The trotter COMMODIOUS MISS (4 back markers) was the fourth horse across the line.

Trial 2: – RIMU VALLEY NZ began quickly to find the lead and set up a moderate tempo. He was challenged in the home straight but was able to hold on in the run to the finish. MIDNIGHT PIRATE settled three back on the markers, moved up without cover at the 600m and tried hard in the straight, going down by a narrow margin. RED HOT MIKI trailed the leader throughout, angled out wider on the track in the home straight and made ground for a close up third.

Trial 4: – ROCKNROLL LENNY fired to the front shortly after the start then took cover with a mile remaining. He came to the outside on the home turn and sprinted sharply in the run to the finish, establishing a big winning margin. CONNIES PRESIDENT NZ was one of four trotters that competed on the program of trials for the evening and did well to finish second. She progressed forward to find the lead, set up a genuine tempo and was run down at the end but defeated the remainder of the field by a large margin. POSTER ART was the third horse across the line after trailing the leader early before ending up being three back on the markers.

BENDIGO 15/12/25

Trial 1: – ATUA MAGIC NZ is a smart 2yo pacer and has been impressive leading up to his first up performance. He led throughout, dashed home in a slick final quarter of 27.8 seconds and dominated his rivals at the end with a winning margin of twelve metres. FULL CRUNCH AHEAD settled four back on the markers, moved away from the inside at the 400m and did well to roll into second position. IMA BALLERINA was the third horse across the line after trailing the leader throughout. LOWER WEST SIDE came from fifth and picked up some ground on the beaten brigade to finish in fourth.

Trial 2: – PIPALICIOUS was without cover early before progressing forward to find the lead. She appeared to have something in reserve in the run to the finish and scored by two metres. She is returning from a spell at Maryborough on Monday afternoon. BELIEVE IN SUNNY led out then took cover and tried hard in the straight to finish less than a length from the winner. She is also backing up at Maryborough on Monday. DUNDEA is a Ruth Shinn trained juvenile and showed some promise. She settled sixth on the markers, moved into the one out and one back trail at the 700m and found the line nicely. PARDRAY was caught without cover early, restrained to be four back on the markers around the first turn and was the fourth horse across the line.

Trial 3: – BIG BAD OSSIE settled three back on the markers, angled out three horses wide on the home turn and finished off best to win in handy time. THE MAHARANI NZ trailed the leader, came to the outside at the 300m mark and tried hard to finish in second. KARUMA KEV was four back on the markers and produced an eye-catching performance to work into third position. He is resuming at Shepparton on Tuesday night. The trotter TICTOK began quickly to find the lead, set up a genuine tempo and was run down over the latter stages. She is competing at Geelong this evening.

Trial 5: – POLLY PEACHUM hasn’t been in the best of form at the races recently but her trial victory was encouraging. She began quickly to find the lead and was able to dash home in a sizzling final half of 56.9 seconds. She commenced from the outside of the second line and ran a reasonable race at Bendigo on Wednesday night. CENTURION DREAM settled three back on the markers and did well against the pacers to finish in second. She is competing at Geelong this evening and will also be backing up at Shepparton on Tuesday night. MONAGHAN BOY settled last of the eight runners, moved into the death seat at the 1100m and sustained a good run to finish in third. He is making his debut at Maryborough on Monday. JERSEY SAM led out then took cover and was the fourth horse across the line.

MARYBOROUGH 15/12/25

Trial 1: – STEEL MIKI is an unraced juvenile by Always B Miki for trainer Ashleigh Herbertson. He backed up a couple of handy Melton trial performances with a runaway victory in the opening event. PLATINUM DANCER is also yet to face the starter and finished in second position. She is a daughter of Betterthancheddar for trainer Jeffrey Towers. DE BEAU ROCK finished in third ahead of the rising 2yo pacer JUSTABITSTORMI.

Trial 2: – The Mark Hayes trained trotter TITAN STRIDE continued his good trial form by beating the pacers. She scored by a narrow margin over DULCIE MAUREEN. That pair drew well clear of the remainder of the field, which was headed by BETTING ATTACK and NAMELLA. DULCIE MAUREEN is returning from a spell at Geelong this evening.

Trial 3: – BREATHE EASY was transferred to trainer Alex Freeman for a short stint, returned to Larry Lynch for an unplaced attempt at Ballarat and is now with trainer Basil Dooley. He was able to win the second trial over ATOMIC GLORY, which was stood down to trial after leading and fading out at his latest performance. BON VIVEUR was also stood down at his latest performance and finished a close up third. The winner BREATHE EASY is competing at Geelong this evening and BON VIVEUR is scheduled to compete at Terang on Monday.

MELTON ENTERTAINMENT PARK 16/12/25

Trial 2: – RIVER STORM raced without cover early, pushed forward to find the lead at the 1300m and set up a strong tempo. He was still able to finish off in a sizzling final quarter of 26.5 seconds to get the job done in style. ENJOY LIFE was just as impressive in second and he is yet to face the starter! He led out, took cover behind RIVER STORM and chased hard from the 500m mark. JO JO JOSIE was beaten by a long way into third but she settled last of the five runners and was able to pick up MACH ME HAPPY (3 back markers) and ZIHUATANEJO (4 back markers) in the home straight.

BLACKBOOKER: – Enjoy Life

Trial 4: – SIGNATURE LOOK is an unraced colt by Poster Boy for trainer Emma Stewart. He began brilliantly to lead by a clear margin and was always in complete control. He dashed home in a slick final half of 56.4 seconds and scored by over ten lengths. VILLAVOS settled three back on the markers, moved off the pegs at the quarter pole and worked into a distant second. ANTHONYS ANGEL was third past the post after trailing the leader for the duration.

BLACKBOOKER: – Signature Look

Trial 5: – ROLINGINTHEDEEP settled five back on the markers, moved into the running lane (1-2) at the 700m and finished off solidly to snare victory by a narrow margin. He is competing at Cranbourne on Sunday night. DOUGS TRIBE settled three back on the markers, moved into the death seat at the 800m and went quickly in the back straight. He kicked on strongly in the straight and finished a close second. He is competing at Terang on Monday night. BLACKJACK WHACKO began well and pushed forward to find the lead. He copped some pressure in the back straight but kicked on well in the straight. He is backing up at Maryborough on Monday afternoon, where he appears to be a very good chance. TAKEMEBYTHEHEART was four back on the markers, moved into the one out and one back trail at the 700m and held his own for fourth. KYORETSU settled last, moved into the running lane at the 700m, went back to the inner approaching the home turn and was held up for a run at a vital stage. He was working home well late despite finishing in fifth.

Trial 6: – CELEBRITY ROYAL trailed the leader, came to the outside at the quarter pole and finished off solidly in a last section of 27.4 seconds to win the prize. SAVANNAH BREEZE settled three back on the markers and hit the line very nicely for a game second. GIVE DAVE A WAVE settled four back on the markers and was the third horse past the post. He is competing at Geelong this evening. The top trotting mare ROCKINWITHATTITUDE set up a genuine tempo in the lead and found the pacers to be a little too quick at the end but she still recorded a handy time in finishing fourth.

BLACKBOOKER: – Savannah Breeze

Trial 8: – GIVE FRED A CLAP raced without cover early, pushed forward to find the lead at the 1700m and was able to fend off his rivals to get the prize. He is backing up at Melton tomorrow night. INDI PARTY MOOD settled five back on the inside, moved into the running lane (1-2) at the 900m and came out three horses wide at the 600m. She sustained a strong run and did well to finish in second. WORTH THE EXTRA settled one out and one back early, was left without cover when GIVE FRED A CLAP found the lead and battled on well for third. HELLO POSSUMS was six back on the markers, worked into the one out and one back trail and finished off well out wide on the track for fourth. She is competing at Shepparton on Tuesday night.

Trial 9: – JUST ABIT DUSTY has joined trainer Alison Alford after his latest unplaced Melton effort in September. He raced without cover in the early stages, pressed forward to find the lead and enjoyed a good run mid-race. He remained strong at the finish and was able to get the prize. TE AMO led out then took cover and came to the outside at the 300m mark. He appeared to be a chance with 150m remaining but JUST ABIT DUSTY was holding him safely at the end. He is backing up at Cranbourne on Sunday night. FLYIN TIME came from last of the five runners to pick up third position.
