Shotinthedark was well backed in the Kilmore heat and had little luck in transit – pressured early, then held up at a vital stage before finishing a close third. He’s a tough, honest type who’s been competitive in solid company, and with a cleaner run, he’ll give a big sight at a good price.

Hoppy has returned in solid form with two good placings at Melton, both from awkward draws. He’s fitter now, and while he’s unproven from the stand, a safe getaway will put him right in the finish. He’s one of the key chances if he steps cleanly.
In addition, I can let Kyvalley Michael go around without me, as I’ve been with him a few times in tough grade and he’s open to improvement here.
