Bronte Nieuwenburg has done the form for tonight’s meeting at Bendigo.

Race 1:
OVERVIEW: OUR PRINCESS DI (2) has great gate speed and should be able to map well. She is first up for new trainer Michael Gadsden and may appreciate the change in scenery, as she is a fast mare at her best. Luke Dunne also takes the drive for the first time. She will need to improve on her last start, but it is likely she will. DIVINE TILLY (3) is a nice mare when at her peak. However, she has probably been a little below her best this preparation and has also encountered some bad luck. Her run last start was improved, making a sustained wide run before hitting the line okay for fourth. Also strongly respecting HAPPENSTBABEACHBOY (13). He has a tricky barrier, but is racing well and the Ashleigh Herbertson stable is flying. TEX GOES BANG (5) seems to race best when he can be up on speed and making his own luck. He gets the opportunity to map suitably here if he can get forward.

BACK: OUR PRINCESS DI (2) – 2 units (win)
SELECTIONS: OUR PRINCESS DI (2), DIVINE TILLY (3), HAPPENSTBABEACHBOY (13), TEX GOES BANG (5)
Race 2:
OVERVIEW: ALABAMA MAY (3) looks ready to get back into the winners’ circle after two solid second placings at her past two starts. Two runs ago at this track, she had to cover an extra 37 metres racing wide. She made a long, sustained run and was only narrowly beaten. Last start she again hit the line well at Maryborough. She should map well from this barrier. I AM HARRO (9) has ability on his day and has an ideal barrier to settle into a positive position. He is racing well. JESSICAS STORY (4) is in great form, finishing in the top four at her past seven starts, including two wins. She performs best when she finds the fence, but there is some early speed drawn inside her. NORTHERN TRUSCOTT (8) has the best sectional times in this event, but faces a sticky barrier. He will need to be on his best behaviour, as he can gallop, but a win would not surprise if he has luck on his side. Also respecting LITTLE TEDEY (1), who should map well from barrier one with his gate speed.

BACK: ALABAMA MAY (3) – 2 units (win)
SELECTIONS: ALABAMA MAY (3), I AM HARRO (9), JESSICAS STORY (4), NORTHERN TRUSCOTT (8)
Race 3:
OVERVIEW: CALABASAS (7) put it all together and got back into the winners’ circle impressively last start. She has always had ability, but her manners have been an issue. If she gets everything right again, she can go back-to-back. FRENCH MISSILE (5) returned with a first-up win as a three-year-old last start. She raced at the top level as a two-year-old and looked eye-catching on her return. She takes on the older horses here. BANOS (8) has had three career starts for two strong wins. In his only defeat, he galloped. He looks a progressive type. GIGGLE WATER (1) has been racing well and has the ideal barrier to take advantage of her gate speed and map well. Also noting SKYVALLEY BOY (9), who is first up here for Ashley Manton and has some ability. He has galloped three of his last four but will be competitive here if he trots throughout.
SELECTIONS: CALABASAS (7), FRENCH MISSILE (5), BANOS (8), GIGGLE WATER (1)
Race 4:
OVERVIEW: ZIHUATANEJO (9) is a Bettors Delight-sired gelding having his first career start for David Miles. He has won four recent trials on this track and looks well placed here. FAMOUS CRIMES (6) has had only five career starts, all in the middle of last year. He returns here with winning trial form at Melton. GOODMORNING MIKI (10) galloped early on debut last start on a rain-affected track. That is a performance to put a line through, as it was not a true indication of her ability. She had a few nice trials leading into her debut. CAPTOTHEMAX (5) has had three career starts and has the best sectional times in this field on exposed form. Last start he settled last and made a long, wide run to finish second. He looks a nice horse.

BACK: ZIHUATANEJO (9) – 2 units (win)
SELECTIONS: ZIHUATANEJO (9), FAMOUS CRIMES (6), GOODMORNING MIKI (10), CAPTOTHEMAX (5)
Race 5:
OVERVIEW: This is a very good race with some progressive horses. MIKI B (9) competed in the Group 1 Chariots Of Fire three starts ago, one of the premier races on the Australian racing calendar. He was slightly disappointing last start, but has since had a freshen-up and should be suited by barrier nine, where he can follow through into a good early position. CO CAPTAIN (1) is first up here, and the stable has a high opinion of him, with the upcoming Queensland Derby on the radar. He is lightly raced, but has been competitive at a high level for his age group. He looks a nice horse in the making. FLOJOS BEST (3) is a smart mare with good gate speed who should be able to map well. TIVOLI (10) is in great form, having won two of her last three starts impressively. She has an awkward barrier here, with some of her main rivals drawn more favourably. Also noting ANGELS WATCHING (2), who is first up here for John Justice and having its first start at Bendigo after spending the majority of its career racing at Mildura.

BACK: MIKI B (9) – 2 units (win)
SELECTIONS: MIKI B (9), CO CAPTAIN (1), FLOJOS BEST (3), TIVOLI (10)
Race 6:
OVERVIEW: This looks like an even contest where a case can be made for most horses in the field. It is difficult to narrow the chances down to just four runners. TO THE NINES (1) is a versatile horse who can race tough and make his own luck. He has notably the best sectional times in this event. The in-form KING SAINT (2) drawn to his inside has brilliant gate speed, so TO THE NINES (1) may end up shuffled back on the fence. GALAXY LASS (4) hit the line well for fourth last start in a race won by the talented colt MOST EXCITING. She is often racing in Saturday night company at Melton and has a great turn of foot. She has had only two starts on this track for a win and a nice placing. FRUGAL FARE (9) is the talented, flashy grey who is racing well and follows through a fast beginner, so he should map well here. IDEAL BANDIT (8) has been racing well and boasts a strong record of 14 starts for six wins. He was unlucky last start, but may again face bad luck from the inside back-row barrier. Also respecting the talented LAMBRO MACH (3) here.
SELECTIONS: TO THE NINES (1), GALAXY LASS (4), FRUGAL FARE (9), IDEAL BANDIT (8)
Race 7:
OVERVIEW: ALDEBARAN ZANE (9) has won his last two starts well and is in career-best form. From barrier nine, he has time and space to settle early and work into a suitable position. He has the opportunity to make it three wins in a row. THE SKY IS THE LIMIT (8) has been racing well and has the best sectional times in this field. However, she will need some luck from the barrier. FAITH FULL (4) should map well with her good gate speed. If she can find the fence and enjoy some luck in running, she is a first four chance. She is probably not racing at her absolute best, but if she brings her good form, she will be competitive. BULLAPARK BENO (6) can sometimes rely on a bit of luck in races like this, but he is a nice horse who rarely puts in a poor performance. Also strongly respecting ALDEBARAN ABEL (5), who is racing well, and the smart KEAYANG TWEETYBIRD (3), who is first up here.

BACK: ALDEBARAN ZANE (9) – 2 units (win)
SELECTIONS: ALDEBARAN ZANE (9), THE SKY IS THE LIMIT (8), FAITH FULL (4), BULLAPARK BENO (6)
Race 8:
OVERVIEW: This is a quality two-year-old maiden trot. MUSCLEM (5) returns after competing in the Nutrien Classic Series at Wagga, where she began her career. She finished third in the $75,000 feature at only her second start and looks like a nice trotter who will continue to improve with age and experience. THE WOOL BROKER (4) has had one career start, finishing second at Maryborough. He did everything right in that run, letting down strongly and hitting the line well. KYVALLEY DIABLO (3) is a first starter from the leading Chris Svanosio stable. He has trialled well and looks like a promising type. ROCKINWITHSASS (8) is the full sister to star mare ROCKINWITHATTITUDE, stepping out for the first time for David Miles. She won a recent Bendigo trial and warrants respect on debut.
SELECTIONS: MUSCLEM (5), THE WOOL BROKER (4), KYVALLEY DIABLO (3), ROCKINWITHSASS (8)
Race 9:
OVERVIEW: MISTER JIMARINGLE (9) steps out for the 167th time and should be able to follow through at the start to settle in a suitable position. He has the best sectional times in this event. TOORAM DANNY (6) is lightly raced, having had only five career starts. All of his runs have been good and, at times, he has been beaten after tough trips. He is still learning about racing and should continue to improve. HUNGRY HOGARTH (2) has been racing well recently. He won impressively at Mildura two starts back, has a good turn of foot and should map well here. DIRECT COMMAND (1) looks set to enjoy a favourable run on the fence, which is a significant advantage in an even field like this. He looks well placed. Also noting ALL JOKIN ASIDE (3), who is first up here for new trainer Rebecca Bartley.
SELECTIONS: MISTER JIMARINGLE (9), TOORAM DANNY (6), HUNGRY HOGARTH (2),
DIRECT COMMAND (1)
