SELECTIONS: MEADOW VALLEY STAR (6), WATCH AND ACT (1), NEPHEW OF SONOKO (8), KYVALLEY PIERRO (7)
OVERVIEW: MEADOW VALLEY STAR (6) is a tough type and was able to win at his latest standing start appearance after commencing from the handicap of 20m and pushing forward to find the lead. He should be competitive if he is able to get away cleanly. WATCH AND ACT (1) is a standing start specialist and should receive an economical trip from the pole position so he is worth a ticket each way. NEPHEW OF SONOKO (8) is clearly the class runner of the field but he faces the tough handicap of 40m. He did score off the same mark two starts ago and his latest effort was behind the star trotter Keayang Zahara in the Dullard Cup so he must be respected. KYVALLEY PIERRO (7) has been lightly raced recently but he is proven from the standing start and has won two of his five starts for the season so he is not without a chance.
