OVERVIEW: SPORTING RAGE (5) began sharply to lead, ran along at a genuine tempo and was run down late when second behind Watch Your Back in a slick mile rate of 1.54.9 at Bendigo last outing. This is probably a race of less depth and he has been placed in three of his past four starts so he deserves to break through for a win. HURRICANE HOOLY (3) was left stranded without cover and kept on kicking when she defeated Final Bow at Bendigo last outing. She is drawn to be close to the speed again and warrants respect. MYRTLE MAY (1) led from the pole position and set up a hectic tempo after racing very fiercely when a tiring sixth at Bendigo last outing. She is better than her two runs back from a break would suggest and is a possible improver. MEGAWATTS (7) was aggressively driven and landed the prize at Mildura last outing. This race is a little harder but he could show up. PRESIDENTIALCHANGE (4) had little luck at Mount Gambier last week and is also worth thought.

| 8 | 948498 | TRYAGAINFREDDY Dr: Luke Sutherland | Gary Peters | Luke Sutherland (C) | 3 | $101 | |||
OVERVIEW: BIGBASHASH (6) was resuming since February when fourth at Horsham behind The Sportz Star, where she worked hard in the run. She performed well at the trials prior and she has shown promise at her three starts to date so she is worth an investment. DON CRUNCH (7) is resuming since a Mildura victory in April but he has been impressive at the trials, particularly at a recent Bendigo success, and he appears to be one of the leading chances. FIVE CENT (4) is very one paced and couldn’t get any closer to the pegs than three horses wide after he commenced from the extreme draw at Maryborough last outing. He hasn’t had much luck recently and is capable of featuring prominently against this class. THELONGROADOFHOPE (5) settled three back on the markers and accelerated nicely to win at Ballarat last outing. This is a race of more depth but she is worth thought again.
BACK: BIGBASHASH (6) – 1 unit (win)

| 8 | 054542 | THE LADYBIRD NZ Dr: Ellen Tormey | John Tormey | Ellen Tormey | 3 | $26 | |||
OVERVIEW: SALSBOY (1) is a genuine sprinter and is perfectly drawn to suit his racing pattern. He was definitely going to run in the top two when he loomed up to join the leaders but broke stride with 100m remaining at his latest Bendigo seventh. The interesting runner is the former New South Wales trained mare ESPERANZA (6). She has been safely held at her past four attempts but she was a winner at Newcastle prior and the combination of trainer Nick Youngson and driver James Herbertson have enjoyed a lot of success over the past few months. DREAMTIME NALA (2) performs best when she is able to lead and she scored after securing the front running role at Bendigo on June 03 so a forward showing is expected. DANCEBYTHESEASIDE (4) is racing well enough to figure in the finish and THE LADYBIRD (8) should receive an economical trip from the trailing draw.

| 8 | 1s573s | SORRISO DE PRAIA Dr: Connor Clarke | Michael Gadsden | Connor Clarke (C) | 7 | $21 | |||
OVERVIEW: EYESEALITTLE (5) performed a long way short of expectations at Horsham when seventh but her first two runs back from a break when runner up behind the handy performers Happily and Isthisthereallife were sound so she is worth another chance. HUNGRY HOGARTH (4) led out then took cover and missed out narrowly at Charlton two starts ago. His latest unplaced effort was behind the smart pacer Some High and this appears to be a more suitable assignment so he is worth an investment. SORRISO DE PRAIA (8) is resuming since a third at Swan Hill in March but he has ability and will be competitive if he is somewhere near his peak. He scored at Swan Hill in a mile rate of 1.55.7 during his last preparation, which is a good form pointer to this event. NO EMOTION (3) has won five races at his local track and is worth thought along with HUXHAM CHUBB (1).

OVERVIEW: HES RUNAWAY BAY (1) pushed forward to find the lead and finished second behind the smart juvenile trotter Kyvalley Dixon and was kept ticking along with a trial victory at Terang last week. He should be prominent throughout from his ideal draw. ASPEN BELLE (9) broke stride in the score up, chased hard and did very well for fifth when on debut last week. She has ability and is a winning chance if she delivers a fool proof display. KYVALLEY JOKER (10) was restrained at the start from a wide draw, settled in a rearward position and worked home well for third at Maryborough last week. This race is no harder and he should be finding the line nicely again. SPESHAL (6) finished off well when second behind Kickabarrel at Maryborough and has claims along with I AM SKYE CHIOLA (2) and PARDRAY (3).

OVERVIEW: EL LAZZAR (4) settled in a rearward position and was planted out four horses wide from the 300m when a fast finishing and narrow second behind Rock Poster at Horsham last outing. He would have been successful in one more stride and he gets his chance to go one better now. MY ULTIMATE MATEO (3) was performing really well at the trials prior to his debut performance so he is much better than what he has shown at his four starts to date. He was held up behind the tiring leader coming up to the home turn and picked up late when third at Shepparton last time out so he is worth another chance. CAPTIVATE ME (1) is a former South Australian trained pacer, which joins trainer Naomi Kerr. He is a fast beginner and is drawn to receive every chance so he must be kept safe. MAXI ANGEL (5) has been performing well at Mildura and finished off nicely from three back on the markers when second two starts ago. He is awkwardly drawn but is not without a chance.
BACK: EL LAZZAR (4) – 4 units (win)
