OVERVIEW: ROSEOFTHEWINDS (2) is resuming since breaking stride in a heat of the Super Series at Melton in November. She was runner up behind I AM SKYE CHIOLA (9) at a Terang trial effort last week and strikes a suitable assignment first up so she must be included amongst the leading chances. CALLINAN (3) is a juvenile gelding taking on older horses but he is nicely bred and a lot of his rivals have been maidens for a long time so he must be considered. He raced without cover when a handy third behind Regal Gala on May 11. VIXEN (6) began well but ended up being three back on the markers and moved up without cover from the 600m when unplaced at Maryborough last week. She was narrowly beaten at Charlton three starts ago and is not without a chance under these conditions. KICKABARREL (5) and I AM SKYE CHIOLA (9) both have the ability to show up but they tend to make errors so their manners might be the key to the result.

OVERVIEW: ISTHISTHEREALLIFE (9) led throughout and dashed well clear of her rivals when she won the Kaye Matthews Tribute at Stawell last outing. She is a promising filly having won two of her three starts to date and she should prove hard to beat again. EYESEALITTLE (6) finished a distant second behind ISTHISTHEREALLIFE (9) at Stawell but she commenced from the inside of the second line, came out four horses wide from eighth at the quarter pole and worked to the line stylishly. She has returned from a spell in good form and the barrier draw is reversed this afternoon so she should provide stiff opposition. ARZALI ROCKSTAR (2) settled ninth on the markers, gained a late inside run and finished off nicely for a distant second in a slick mile rate of 1.54.0 at Ballarat last outing. She is much better drawn for this assignment and should go well. FIVE CENT (1) is a tough type and has claims along with MARGARITARI (3) and JILLIBY KYMY LOU (5).

OVERVIEW: It is an open race with many winning chances. ROCK POSTER (6) was left stranded out three horses wide and progressed forward to park without cover from the 1600m when a creditable fourth at Shepparton last outing. He was placed at his previous four attempts and should run his usual honest race. WATCH HIM DANCE (5) settled in a rearward position and finished off fast when third at Charlton last outing. He endured a tough run when fourth at Ballarat prior. ARUVAL (4) and EL LAZZAR (7) both went very quickly in the first lap and were able to battle on okay in their efforts in the same race at Charlton last week. They are both capable of showing up without surprising. JUST LIKE NUGGET (2) did well after making a mid-race move when a close second at Stawell two starts ago and has claims. KATUNTI (10) and PAKIKAU (9) finished first and second at a Terang trial on Tuesday night and must be kept safe.

OVERVIEW: DANCEBYTHESEASIDE (3) pushed forward to race without cover early, gained a one out and one back trail at the 1200m and made his winning move from the 500m when a determined winner at Charlton. This race is slightly tougher but he is drawn to be prominent throughout. MISSMALACHITE (2) pushed forward from the outside of the front line to work up without cover at the 1100m and peaked late when unplaced at Charlton. Her form prior was sound and she is better drawn so she is worth another chance. IMALLATTITUDE (1) was suited by a genuine early tempo but finished off well from the back of the pack to claim second prize at Charlton. He should gain an economical run on the markers and should be finding the line nicely again. PRESIDENTIALCHANGE (4) appears to be well graded in this event and is worth a ticket each way. GOODTIME MAE (8) is awkwardly drawn behind a moderate beginner but she has been performing nicely at the trials and so she is not without a chance.

OVERVIEW: ALL BLAZING GUNS (8) has been racing well in strong Metropolitan events and appears to be nicely placed against this line up. He follows out behind a fast beginner and produced a powerful finishing burst via the sprint lane when he won at Melton on May 09. OUR ULTIMATE GRACY (1) has the early speed to hold the lead and was runner up behind the very smart pacers in The Art of Success and Most Exciting at his Melton efforts in May so a bold showing is expected. RANGER RICK (7) is a speedy pacer, which has been performing nicely at a high level and is a winning chance if he gains the right luck in running from the extreme draw. OUT TO STAY (3) is resuming since a Hamilton victory in February but he won a trial at Maryborough last week and has the ability to feature prominently.

OVERVIEW: BLACKRANGE GLORY (7) is making his standing start debut but he did step away well enough to lead at a recent Maryborough trial effort, where second behind star stable mate Mecarno. He will make his presence felt with a safe getaway. FREMARKS PEGGY (9) has been placed in eight of her past nine starts (3 wins) and she ran a reasonable race for second behind Romantic Nina last week. She is a versatile mare and should go well again. CONNIES PRESIDENT (4) steps away quickly and has struck peak form with two victories and a third behind FREMARKS PEGGY (9) at his past three attempts. He is a good chance of finding the lead despite commencing from the handicap of 10m and is worth an investment. NIGHT WHISPERER (5) won a standing start event at Stawell two starts ago then his next two attempts were at Metropolitan level. This race is more suitable and he is worth a ticket each way. IM EDDIE (8) is a strong type and has claims along with SOSO MAJESTIC (11), which unfortunately galloped late at the trials last week but has the ability to feature prominently if he delivers a fool proof display.

OVERVIEW: BLACK OPAL JACK (11) will appreciate a big drop back in class for this assignment and will prove hard to beat. He competed against top opposition in the Nutrien Classic series at Wagga, where sixth in the Final behind the star pacer Hollywood Strip then followed with a sixth behind Major Blitz in a sizzling mile rate of 1.54.0. BIGBASHASH (7) won comfortably at her debut performance then was spelled after a creditable fourth behind Chogi in February. She finished second at a Maryborough trial effort last week and appears to have a promising future. THE SPORTZ STAR (4) has been racing against strong opposition and has the early speed to be prominent throughout. He is a short course specialist so the conditions of this race appear to be suitable. SKIPPYS DELIGHT (5), KEAYANG HUNGRY (9) and VINNY ROCK (10) all have claims in a good race to end the program.

OVERVIEW: LIVERMERE (6) attempted to find the lead early, raced without cover then gained the one out and one back trail from the 1100m when a close up fifth behind The Regulator at Charlton last week. She is yet to win in 25 starts for the season but she is racing consistently against this grade and should be competitive again. THE DEMOCRAT (7) was able to beat LIVERMERE (6) to the line at his latest Charlton third but he did trail the leader after commencing from the inside of the second line and he is not as well drawn now. DANCIN WITH ELVIS (2) settled in a rearward position and was never a factor when sixth at Charlton. He was a winner at Mount Gambier in April and is better drawn for this assignment so he is not without a chance. ABERCROMBIE LIMBO (1) had every chance two starts ago but was placed from behind the leader prior and TELL A TALL STORY (5) should be fitter from his first up seventh, where he wasn’t beaten by far.
