SELECTIONS: MY ULTIMATE JIMMY (3), AVOCA BLUES (2), CLYMENUS (6), EARL OF PEMBROKE (8)

OVERVIEW: MY ULTIMATE JIMMY (3) is a very talented 3yo pacer, which recorded a mile rate of 1.54.9 when he raced without cover throughout to win at Mildura on September 19. He was gallant in defeat when a close second in the South Australian Derby last outing and he should prove hard to beat here. AVOCA BLUES (2) set up the very brisk tempo when second behind My Ultimate Jimmy on September 19. He is drawn to lead again and he has been placed at his past nine attempts so he should give another bold showing. CLYMENUS (6) has been racing mostly at Metropolitan level and will appreciate a drop back in class for this assignment. He finished off well for fourth at Swan Hill on Cup night and was runner up behind the in-form pacer Plains of Heaven at Melton on September 27. EARL OF PEMBROKE (8) has also been racing at Metropolitan level and should be hitting the line strongly.

SELECTIONS: FIANO (9), VINCE LOMBARDI (4), CLARENDEN CRUISER (8), LOYOLA SPIAGGIA (6)

OVERVIEW: FIANO (9) won nicely at her first run for trainer Alex Ashwood after she settled in a rearward position and sustained a long run in the final circuit. She meets a field of similar standard now and should prove hard to beat again. VINCE LOMBARDI (4) began quickly to find the lead and was run down late by Mister Boombastik at Mildura on September 19. He appears to be well placed against this line up and might be able to find the lead again but he has had a few chances since his latest victory. The South Australian trained pacer CLARENDEN CRUISER (8) is resuming since June and hasn’t been to the trials but he has too much ability to dismiss. LOYOLA SPIAGGIA (6) gained a nice trail when third behind FIANO (9) at his Mildura debut. He is widely drawn but he recorded a mile rate of 1.55.3 when he scored at Swan Hill on September 02 and warrants respect.

SELECTIONS: LOVE TO DEAL (1), PUNTO CALIENTE (7), BEARTASTIC WRITER (6), ROBERT CROCKA (9)

OVERVIEW: LOVE TO DEAL (1) attempted to lead throughout and was run down late when second behind Keayang Crippa at her last visit to Mildura on September 30. She is drawn to lead again and is capable of going one better. PUNTO CALIENTE (7) missed out at Swan Hill last week but he has the perfect trailing draw behind the likely leader so he is worth another chance. BEARTASTIC WRITER (6) is resuming since an unplaced effort at Mildura in July. He was competing against stronger opposition when he was last in work so a forward showing would not surprise. RONZEL SONNY (8) and ROBERT CROCKA (9) are both racing well enough to figure in the finish and CHALKNCHEDDAR (10) has claims if he is somewhere near his peak.

SELECTIONS: KEAYANG CRIPPA (10), RONZEL MICKY (6), DAYLIGHT (8), NEDS BEACH (1)

OVERVIEW: KEAYANG CRIPPA (10) couldn’t recover after beginning slowly at Swan Hill last week. He won at two out of his three attempts at Mildura prior and is capable of showing up prominently against this class. RONZEL MICKY (6) is poorly drawn but has the speed to figure in the finish. She led throughout to win at Mildura two starts ago then followed with a third at Swan Hill, where she trailed the leader throughout. DAYLIGHT (8) settled in a rearward position and picked up ground despite finishing in eighth at Swan Hill last week. She recorded two wins in succession at Mildura in September and must be considered as a winning chance again. NEDS BEACH (1) and GRENADE (2) both are capable of showing up from their good draw on the front line.

SELECTIONS: CHOGI (1), CRUZ WITH ROME (5), FLYIN TOMMY (7), CALF PEN (10)

OVERVIEW: CHOGI (1) returns to Victoria after a failed Tasmanian campaign, where she was safely held in four attempts. She has performed well at Mildura previously having won three races and she is ideally drawn to suit her racing pattern so she warrants respect. CRUZ WITH ROME (5) should be reaching his peak form after having two starts back from a short break. He worked hard in the middle stages and battled on well when fifth at Mildura last outing so he is worth an investment. FLYIN TOMMY (7) disappointed at his latest ninth but his form prior was sound and he is drawn behind the fast beginner in CHOGI (1) so he is worth another chance. CALF PEN (10) enjoyed a nice trail but produced a strong finish to score in a mile rate of 1.55.7 last week so he should be hard to hold out in the run to finish.

SELECTIONS: MISTER HENDRIX (1), EMMA ROX (2) DESTINY KEPT (10), ELISSAS DELIGHT (11)

OVERVIEW: MISTER HENDRIX (1) produced a big finish from midfield when he scored impressively at a recent Bendigo trial performance. He struck trouble when on debut and he meets a suitable field now so he must be respected. EMMA ROX (2) ran a sharper race when fifth at Swan Hill then struck trouble in the Mildura Guineas. She joins trainer Alex Ashwood and is perfectly drawn so a bold showing is expected. DESTINY KEPT (10) began quickly to lead then copped pressure mid-race when a game second behind Eyesealittle at Mildura two starts ago. She met a stronger field at Swan Hill last week and she should be competitive against this line up. ELISSAS DELIGHT (11) lacks recent racing but she is better than her form reads and is a possible improver here. COURTNEY CHARLI (4) worked hard to lead at her first run for trainer Sandra O’Connor and battled late. She should be suited against this class and is worth thought.

SELECTIONS: ANGELS WATCHING (8), WAZOWSKI (4), STARVIN MARVIN (1), WATCHTHECLOCK (2)

OVERVIEW: ANGELS WATCHING (8) was very unlucky in the Mildura Guineas, where she settled at the tail of the field, was making ground whilst weaving a passage through the pack and was severely checked on the home turn. This is a big drop back in class and she was a big winner at Mildura on September 19 so she must be respected. WAZOWSKI (4) drew on the second line, pushed around to race without cover mid-race and battled on well for third in fast time at Ararat last outing. She was racing well in New South Wales prior and must be considered as a winning chance. STARVIN MARVIN (1) led out then took cover and battled on fairly well for fourth at Swan Hill last outing. He is racing consistently and is drawn to run a big race. WATCHTHECLOCK (2) raced without cover throughout and proved to be too strong at Mildura last outing. He is drawn to be prominent throughout so he must be considered as a winning chance again.
