SELECTIONS: WITH APLOMB (7), JUST ABIT DUSTY (5), TE AMO (6), PIESRIDINGSHOTGUN (4)

OVERVIEW: WITH APLOMB (7) has returned from Queensland in peak form and appears to be one of the leading chances again. She dominated her rivals at the end when she defeated PIESRIDINGSHOTGUN (4) at Bendigo last outing. JUST ABIT DUSTY (5) is resuming since September and joins trainer Alison Alford. He was impressive at the trials at Melton recently and won a trial at Bacchus Marsh on Saturday. He has a lot of ability when he is able to put it altogether so he must be kept safe. TE AMO (6) broke stride twice in succession prior to a close second behind Hillwinsome at Cranbourne, where he was held up behind the tiring leader on the home turn but finished off well. He is a winning chance if he puts in a fool proof display. PIESRIDINGSHOTGUN (4) is a fast beginner and appears to be the likely leader. He had his chance after leading behind WITH APLOMB (7) last outing but his overall form is sound.

SELECTIONS: FORGONE CONCLUSION (2), GALLICO (6), DAUGHTER OFDARKNES (5), INTERPRETATION (7)

OVERVIEW: FOREGONE CONCLUSION (2) is a fast beginner and has been runner up at his past two starts behind the in-form pacer Lou Easyana so he gets his chance to break through for a win from his good draw. GALLICO (6) was shuffled back on the markers and finished off boldly for a close third at Gunbower last outing. He endured a tough run and dashed clear at the end when he won at Ballarat prior so he must be considered as a winning chance again. DAUGHTER OFDARKNES (5) worked hard to find the front and was too strong for Hezaflashone (won since) at Shepparton then attempted a similar tactic at her latest third. She is a nicely bred filly and should continue to improve with the benefit of racing. INTERPRETATION (7) will appreciate a drop back in class for this assignment and her chances will be greatly enhanced if she is able to get across to the markers shortly after the start. ROLINGINTHE DEEP (10) is racing well enough to figure in the finish but will need luck from the awkward draw.

SELECTIONS: BREATHE EASY (5), NORMANS GIRL (3), SPEEDY HEALEY (9), THE MAJORS GIRL (1)

OVERVIEW: BREATHE EASY (5) delivered a career best performance at his first run for trainer Basil Dooley, where he used energy at various stages to hold and regain the lead and was too strong at the finish in a mile rate of 1.56.4. This race is of similar standard and he should prove hard to beat again. NORMANS GIRL (3) is an experienced maiden having had 25 attempts but she only missed out by a narrow margin last time out so she is getting closer to the money. SPEEDY HEALEY (9) hasn’t had the best of luck recently and is better than his form reads. He gains a trailing draw behind a fast beginner in SASSCILIAN (2) so he gets his chance to give a better showing. THE MAJORS GIRL (1) performed below expectations when a distant ninth at Cobram on Sunday but she was runner up at her two attempts prior and is much better drawn so she is worth another chance.

SELECTIONS: MY LITTLE BO (1), STEEL RULER (8), STEEL THE MOMENT (3), SUNSTAR (5)

OVERVIEW: MY LITTLE BO (1) was a huge winner at Wagga four starts ago where she raced without cover and posted a sizzling mile rate of 1.51.6. Her past two efforts were in the Breeders Crown series so she will appreciate a drop back in class for this assignment and is drawn to go close. STEEL RULER (8) has the perfect trailing draw behind MY LITTLE BO (1) and is a good chance of ending up being behind the leader. He won from behind the leader at Melton on September 05 and recorded a handy mile rate of 1.55.8 so he is not to be underestimated. STEEL THE MOMENT (3) is a versatile pacer and continues to race consistently. He finished off well in fast final sectionals at his latest second behind Ruby Wingate. SUNSTAR (5) failed to beat a runner to the line at his latest attempt but he ran a huge race after being three horses wide for the entire trip when fifth at Geelong prior so he rates as a value chance.

SELECTIONS: ALWAYS A SHOWGIRL (3), IM BUTTER BLUE (2), BELLA LOUISE (5), EVILEYE (4)

OVERVIEW: ALWAYS A SHOWGIRL (3) has been racing in Super Series events and is likely to find this assignment to be easier. She recorded a mile rate of 1.57.2 when she scored at Melton in October and she didn’t have a great deal of luck when sixth in the Super Series Silver event last time out. IM BUTTER BLUE (2) set up a genuine tempo and was run down at the end when seventh in the Homegrown Classic last outing. She finished fourth in the Western Region Classic at Wagga when resuming and she should make her presence felt under these conditions. BELLA LOUISE (5) is a speedy mare and has the speed to figure in the finish. She was forced to do some work in the run after commencing from the inside of the second line at her latest attempt so she is worth thought. EVILEYE (4) is a speedy mare that could show up and IMAGINATION ORO (10) will appreciate a drop back in class for this assignment.

SELECTIONS: HIGH ACHIEVER (4), OUR ANGELS ENVY (5), DYGANALI (1), BETTERBWATCHING (8)

OVERVIEW: HIGH ACHIEVER (4) is a debutante for trainer Mitchell Frost, which shaped up nicely at her latest Bendigo trial success in a mile rate of 2.1.3 so she must be respected. OUR ANGELS ENVY (5) performed well at the trials prior to making her debut. She has improved with each run and missed out by less than a length last time out so she looms as one of the leading chances. DYGANALI (1) trailed the leader from the pole position but was held up for momentum before the home turn and picked up nicely in the straight at her latest second. She is drawn to receive another economical run on the markers and is not without a chance. BETTERBWATCHING (8) may be shuffled back on the markers from the inside of the second line but she is racing too well to dismiss. WEE GEORGIE WOOD (11) was slow to begin and couldn’t recover in the Homegrown Classic last week. This race is easier so he is worth an investment.

SELECTIONS: ABBIE (4), BUSLIN BRODY (7), SEBASTIANS WAITING (8), ROMANTIC NINA (5)

OVERVIEW: It is a tough race to assess with a few of the leading chances having gait issues. ABBIE (4) beat an easier field at Cobram but she was impressive after making a mid-race move. She is generally fool proof so she gets the nod. BUSLIN BRODY (7) should prove hard to beat if he does everything right. He was a strong winner at Bendigo on November 26 and his latest fourth was behind Bennie And The Jets, which has won the Cobram Cup since. SEBASTIANS WAITING (8) has a very awkward trailing draw but he is a progressive trotter, which should continue to improve with experience. He trailed the leader and finished off best to win comfortably in easier grade last outing. ROMANTIC NINA (5) can do a bit wrong in her races but she has a lot of ability when she can put it altogether and should be finishing off strongly if she delivers a fool proof display. CENTURION DREAM (1) can improve from the pole position and KYVALLEY JETSTREAM (6) is racing well enough to figure in the finish.

SELECTIONS: LAMBRO MACH (7), KYORETSU (6), MAXY BOMBER (9), MONSIEUR FLAMEL (11)

OVERVIEW: LAMBRO MACH (7) settled down in a rearward position and was the widest runner when turning for home so his effort to finish fifth (5m) at Geelong last outing was sound. He hasn’t been at his best form for some time but his last run was encouraging and this appears to be a suitable assignment. KYORETSU (6) was resuming since June when he ran a reasonable race for sixth behind Emma Rox in the Homegrown Classic. He should be fitter from that performance and is worth thought. MAXY BOMBER (9) finished off quickly to win in a mile rate of 1.56.4 at Maryborough two starts ago. He has a reasonable trailing draw and should be hitting the line nicely again. MONSIEUR FLAMEL (11) performed a little below expectations last time out but he won three of his previous four attempts, including a big win at Shepparton, where he worked forward to lead, so he cannot be left out of calculations.
