OVERVIEW: It is an open race with many winning chances. WILD BULL (2) is a tough type and is racing well enough to break through for a win. He progressed forward to race without cover and went down fighting in a slick mile rate of 1.54.2 last outing. SPORTSBOU (1) missed out by a narrow margin when second behind NOSWEETSFORYOU (4) at Wedderburn last outing. He is drawn to receive the perfect trip and is worth a ticket each way. EASTBRO CHRISSY (7) will appreciate a drop back in class on her recent efforts and scored at Melton three starts ago. She is versatile and should go well despite the wide draw. TORQUE POWER (3) and NOSWEETSFORYOU (4) are both racing well enough to feature prominently.

| 8 | 2417s4 | AMERICAN ASSASSIN Dr: Kerryn Manning | Kerryn Manning | Kerryn Manning | 7 | $6.00 | |||
OVERVIEW: AMERICAN ASSASSIN (8) was resuming since June when he settled down last, angled out four horses wide at the quarter pole, hit the front in the home straight and peaked late when a creditable fourth at Ballarat. He should derive a lot of benefit from that performance and should take beating under these conditions. FAIR CHANCE (2) was caught wide early, restrained to last then attempted to make a run from the back when sixth at Charlton. She had little luck last time and she will appreciate her best draw for a long time so she must be respected. CHOGI (4) is a speedy mare, which hit the line strongly for third behind Wingate Guy last outing. She is rising in class for this assignment but she is worth a ticket each way. JAMES GARNER (3) is racing consistently and has claims along with STARZINHEREYES (7).

OVERVIEW: CASTLES IN THE SKY (1) is a fast beginner and should give a bold showing. She began quickly but broke stride on the first turn when unplaced at Ballarat last outing so she had excuses and she led throughout for a comfortable victory prior. THAT OTHER THING (8) was racing against stronger opposition when he was last in work and is capable of showing up prominently from his trailing draw behind CASTLES IN THE SKY (1). MAGIC LAW (4) attempted to lead throughout when third behind Scar two starts ago then was able to score from the front running role at Maryborough last outing. She is worth thought along with the fast beginner CHRISTMAS BABE (3). LOVE WHO (6) is also a speedy type that is capable of figuring in the finish if he puts his best foot forward.

OVERVIEW: BIGBASHASH (5) is a beautifully bred first starter for trainer Aaron Dunn, which won impressively at a Melton trial last week and strikes a very suitable assignment first up. KEAYANG HUNGRY (2) trailed the leader, used the sprint lane and finished off quickly when a nose second behind Jilliby Worpa at his debut. He worked home reasonably well for fourth at Charlton last outing and should be competitive from his good draw. ALLGOOD VINNIE (6) makes his debut for trainer Ashleigh Herbertson and is a possible improver. LOAN SAILOR (7) and IM THE REASON (8) are both worth thought in multiple combinations. The first starters BUBBLE OVER (9) and EMJAY KRUZER (11) have both performed fairly well at the trials and must be kept safe.

OVERVIEW: QUICK DECISION (8) missed out at Terang last outing but he was very unlucky three starts ago and finished a very close second at Geelong at her next attempt. She is awkwardly drawn but is worth an investment. STANDANDELIVER (10) was wide for the majority of the journey so he did a good job to finish in fourth at Charlton last outing. This race is no harder so he warrants consideration. KEMPSEYS DELIGHT (5) has been unplaced at his past fourteen starts but the last time he was driven by James Herbertson, he landed some good wagers by leading throughout and that effort was at Stawell. MY DARLING DEVINE (3) is a minor place chance from her good draw and others with place hopes are GLENLEA HANOVER (9) and ONE OFF (12).

OVERVIEW: HUXHAM CHUBB (9) is racing in good form and finished off well for third at Charlton last week. She should gain an economical run from the trailing draw and will be hitting the line strongly again. NO EMOTION (8) raced without cover throughout when fourth behind Lord Verde at Charlton last outing. He was runner up at his two attempts prior and he is tough enough to figure in the finish. LITTLEBLABBAMOUTH (2) hasn’t produced her best form for some time but she has had a run of horror barrier draws and she performs best when she is close to the speed so she gets her chance to improve here. THE LADYBIRD (5) settled in the second half of the field and produced a strong finish to score at Shepparton last outing. This is a race of more depth but she is worth thought again.
The odds quoted on the fields page are a GoodForm generated price estimate based on a range of key form factors and are not necessarily the odds that may be offered by a licensed bookmaker.

OVERVIEW: EASTBRO MIKA (5) has been placed in four of her past six starts and should run her usual honest race. She finished strongly when second at Hamilton then trailed the leader throughout at her latest third. LORD VERDE (2) is a fast beginner and is racing at his peak form. He settled in a nice trailing position and finished off best to score in a slick mile of 1.56.8 at Charlton last outing and is one of the leading chances again. SWISS LIGHTNING (3) produced a huge performance when he was driven aggressively and scored in a career best mile rate of 1.55.5 on December 07. He has struggled in six unplaced efforts since but he will appreciate a drop back in class for this assignment so he cannot be dismissed. VILLAGE VOICE (1) has been placed in five of her past seven starts and is a place again from the pole position.
BACK: EASTBRO MIKA (5) – 1.5 units (each way)
