OVERVIEW: MUFASA BART (10) is resuming since June but he was a runaway trial winner at Terang last week and his form in New South Wales during his last preparation was strong enough to be very competitive against this field. QUICK DECISION (9) hasn’t had much luck at her past two attempts, where her lack of gate speed has seen her being buried away on the inside. She has been hitting the line nicely and she will appreciate being drawn out in the open here so she warrants respect. IAMAWINGATE (8) has been safely held at his past three attempts but he led throughout to win at Terang prior and he has the speed to figure in the finish. EASY ROLLING (4) and DOCTOR GO JOH (6) are both worth thought in multiple combinations.

OVERVIEW: IMA CHARMA (3) will appreciate a significant drop back in class for this assignment and should be prominent throughout. He finished a close up fourth behind the in-form pacer Our Ultimate Gracy at Charlton last outing and was driven aggressively from a wide draw when he won impressively at Gunbower on December 14. TUKURUA (7) has had a horror run with the barrier draw and the same continues here but she has managed to maintain a consistent form line. She produced a big finish when she scored at Melton three starts ago and had little luck after starting from the inside of the second line at her latest attempt. CALEDONIAN TERRA (6) is backing up quickly from his effort at Ararat on Friday night but he has been racing in fine form for new trainer Matthew Craven and he has the early speed to be prominent throughout. HAVADASH JOH (5) overcame a wide trip to win at Terang last outing. He has worked into his peak form and is one of the leading chances again.

BACK: IMA CHARMA (3) – 1 unit (win)

OVERVIEW: JILLIBY WILLOW (9) will appreciate a massive drop back in class from her latest performances and is extremely well placed in this event. She finished unplaced in the Group 1 Queen of the Pacific last outing after unplaced efforts in the Make Mine Cullen and the Angelique. JILLIBY ILLUMINATE (7) is a speedy mare, which finished a narrow second behind the smart pacer Uniquely Ideal then followed with an unlucky fifth behind My Little Bo, where she was stranded out three horses wide from the extreme draw. She boasts a consistent record and should be finding the line strongly. ODIN (6) worked forward to find the lead and recorded a mile rate of 1.54.7 at Bendigo then followed with a fifth at Metropolitan level. He is a very quick beginner and should give a forward showing. MITZI SAID (4) is resuming since December but she sprinted sharply to win a trial at Bendigo on Monday night and rates as a value hope.

BACK: JILLIBY WILLOW (9) – 3 units win

OVERVIEW: KEAYANG PASSION (5) is backing up quickly from her debut performance at Ararat on Friday night but her trial form is excellent and she dashed home in a slick final quarter of 27.8 seconds at her latest trial victory. She is nicely bred and appears to have a promising future. KEAYANG ALABAMA (1) is also backing up quickly from Ararat Cup night and should be competitive against this line up. He attempted to lead throughout when a handy second at Kilmore when on his debut. MCBART (8) has been performing extremely well at the Terang trials and should go well at his debut. He has the perfect trailing draw behind KEAYANG ALABAMA (1) so he should enjoy an economical trip. NORMA THE STORMA (3) and STORMS (4) have both been performing fairly well at the Terang trials over the past few weeks and must be kept safe.

OVERVIEW: OFF YOUR FACESKI (7) won five races in succession prior to a disappointing tenth at Maryborough, where he dropped out after enjoying a nice run on the markers. He is a strong type and is capable of bouncing back against this opposition. SONARMI JOH (8) won off the tough handicap of 50m at Mount Gambier on January 28. He is racing consistently and boasts a strong standing start record so he is worth a ticket each way. ALDEBARAN ANTON (6) has a tendency to trot roughly occasionally and will appreciate competing on the bigger track at Terang. He is backing up quickly from his effort at Boort on Sunday but should run his usual honest race. LADY SUSPICIOUS (5) was a winner against similar opposition at Mount Gambier on February 03 and is not without a chance despite commencing from the handicap of 20m.

OVERVIEW: DEECODE (6) produced a brilliant front running display when he scored by over twenty-five metres in a mile rate of 1.55.7 at Hamilton last week. This race is only marginally tougher so he appears to be the horse to beat again. COLOSIMO (1) settled three back on the markers, was held up for a run at a vital stage and finished off well for third at Terang on debut. He was beaten by a long way when third behind DEECODE (6) last week but he was working home well at the end and he is drawn to receive every chance. HURRICANE HOOLY (3) trailed the leader and used the sprint lane when she was able to drive through and score at Charlton last outing. She has been racing consistently and has the early speed to be prominent throughout. PRETTY BASIC (2) appeared to have every chance when unplaced at Hamilton last week but he has been placed in three of his six starts at Terang previously so he is worth thought in multiple combinations.
