Who could forget the performance of Soho Lanikai in last year's Premiere Stakes?

The breathtaking 65m win on debut proved the one and only run for the Michael Stanley-trained colt, with the brilliant son of Somebeachsomewhere now at stud.

While Stanley doesn't have any two-year-olds aimed at this year's renewal of the race, the feature is set to be an intriguing one with a field of eight to line-up in the $24,000 event.

Impressive last-start winner Mykorona steps out again for trainer-driver Aaron Dunn, while Ryan Duffy teams up with Solesseo Matuca - a winner of his two most recent runs - for Damien Burns. Duffy drove Soho Lanikai to that massive victory in 2020.

Burns also has stablemate Got Equity, who he will partner in the race.

There's also two debutants, with Ange McDowall to launch the career of Botanist (Roll With Joe-Rocktheniteaway colt) and Brutally Handsome (Art Major-Life Inthefastlane colt) to appear for AJ and BJ Tindale.

The other key feature on the Saturday night Tabcorp Park Melton card is the Catanach's Jewellers Markovina Free For All.

It has drawn a quality field of pacers, including the talented Like A Wildfire (Emma Stewart) and Love Ina Chevy (Lance Justice), who resume from spells.

Five horses - Malcolms Rhythm (David Aiken), Sirletic (David Aiken), Majestic Cruiser (Geoff Webster), Zadaka (Greg Norman) and Mister Wickham (Chris Svanosio) - all step out after appearing in the Group 2 Terang Co-Op Pacing Cup last month.

The first of 11 races kicks off at 5.34pm.

Also this Sunday, the country cups roadshow rolls on to Shepparton and Birchip.

Shepparton will host the Wangaratta meeting, with the North East Fasteners Wangaratta Pacing Cup and Reflex Glass / J & T Joinery Wangaratta Trotters Cup both worth $14,500.

Further west, the Sharp's Bakery Mallee Bull Pacing Cup and TMC Enviro Mallee Bull Trotters Cup - both of $4500 - are among the highlights.
