Talented juvenile Arrhythmia remains undefeated after scoring her seventh consecutive win in the 2YO Fillies Final.
Despite sitting parked for the last lap of the race, Arrhythmia ($2.50) dug deep over the concluding stages to grab stablemate and $1.90 favourite Pre Eminant in the shadows of the post, scoring by a short half-head.
NSW reinsman Cameron Hart acknowledged the winner’s fighting qualities.
“She was awesome tonight. She had to be the best horse in the race and she wanted it a bit more. When they have a will to win like this girl, you’ve only got to put them in the race and they will do the rest,” Hart said.
Hart combined with Emma Stewart for a running double after Beach Diamond ($2.80) took out the 3YO Fillies Final.
Hart made a race-winning move when he sent Beach Diamond forward, wresting the lead off the $1.75 favourite Soho Americano with 1800 metres to travel.
“The speed was quite sedate in that first corner and I thought it wouldn’t hurt to have a crack. I was pretty confident we could sit outside and make a race of it, but once we were able to find the front it definitely helped,” he said.
The win capped off a strong night for the Stewart and Hart, and highlighted the depth of talent in this year’s Vicbred series.
