Bill and Anne Anderson are preparing to wave goodbye to their much-loved Lauriston Bloodstock property, but remain committed to continuing a successful breeding and racing dynasty.

The sale of the 250-acre establishment is set to be complete in late September, which will bring an end to the couple’s 16-year journey in Longwood.

Bill Anderson said the property, which includes a family home and many major equine facilities, had been bought by a Singapore-based thoroughbred breeder with local managers after plenty of interest was shown during a six-week sale campaign.

He said the couple decided to put the farm on the market to enjoy a lifestyle change, allow more extensive travel and fulfil a desire to send well-performing horses to the USA circuit as owners.

Anderson said there was no desire to leave the breeding and racing industry, with plans for their mares and prized stallion Poster Boy (pictured below) to live full-time at Northern Rivers Equine.

"We are not selling any mares and we are not getting out," he told thetrots.com.au.

"It's just a lifestyle change for a new home we are building which is half-built in Melbourne now.

"We needed a change of location and we decided we'd go back to Essendon and build this new home.

“The pink and black will continue to strive for success.”

Lauriston Bloodstock and the Andersons have been a force in the breeding industry for many years, winning the Ian Daff Memorial Award in 2008 for their significant and tenured contribution and service.

Some of the stars bred by the Andersons include Maffioso, Musical Delight, Yankee Rockstar, Follow The Stars, Queen Of Pop, Born To Rocknroll, Our Little General, Without You, Poster Boy, Speak No Evil, Hurricane Harley, None Bettor, Ladies In Red and Irish Black Label.
