Cohen and his Buddy build lead as Metro pony trots series rolls on

The big winning moments keep on coming as the Hygain Summer of Glory Metropolitan Series continues to put Pony Trots Victoria’s young stars up in bright lights.

Following on from last weekend’s epic PTV Hunter Cup there will be more big racing Saturday night with round three of the championships at Melton, part of a great harness racing card that features the Aldebaran Park Knight Pistol.

Eight drivers and their beloved ponies will step out for round three, with the prelude at 6.05pm before the championship showdown at 6.35pm, immediately after race 2 on the Melton harness racing program.

Among those jostling for points will be Cohen Tindale and his pony Buddy Major, winners of last Saturday night’s PTV Hunter Cup.

It was Cohen’s first major race win with Buddy Major, a very rewarding result having broken the pony in two years ago and overcome many issues with him.

The duo also won round one of the series to take an early points lead, amassing 32 points across the first two rounds to lead from Darcie Fisher and Light The Fuse (23 points).

Next best is Annabelle Stanley and All That Jazz on 22 points, having finished second in the PTV Hunter Cup. That result capped an outstanding night for that duo, having also earlier won the prelude.

Charlie Walters and The Brawler placed third in the PTV Hunter Cup and that’s helped them advance to fourth overall on the championship standings.

Saturday night’s pony trots races will be shown live and free on www.TrotsVision.com.au as part of an outstanding card of harness racing. Be sure to tune in and cheer the contestants on.
