Country Cups: The season that was

The $25,000 Trots Country Cups Championship title is in new hands with Kima Frenning and Buster Brady officially claiming the crown.

The first-year trainer said she was “super excited” to scoop up the title, with Buster Brady and San Carlo dominant performers throughout the season, during which each produced five victories.

Buster Brady’s 27 points from seven starts saw the former Kiwi hold out San Carlo despite the latter winning the final two cups of the season, with Tim O’Brien’s Perspective (19 points) finishing a clear third.

“It’s been such an exciting season and to be able to win this country cups championship is such a thrill,” Frenning said.
