SHEPPARTON 24/10/19
Trial 1: – MRS BROWNS BOY was able to angle across from a wide barrier to gain a trail three back on the markers. He came to the outside in the straight and sprinted home too well. PARK LIFE trailed the leader and hit the front momentarily on the home turn before being run down late. REIGNING PEPPER was a very good effort in third. He settled second last (6 back markers) and lost ground when the horse in front of him SAMMARI couldn’t keep in touch with the leaders. He came from approximately 30m behind the leader at the 700m mark to be beaten by only 7m in smart time. ALLNIGHT MLADY tired into fourth after setting up a genuine tempo. SMASH IT was four back on the markers throughout and beat home OUR SUMMER BAY, which settled at the rear of the field and SAMMARI dropped out to finish last.
Mile Rate: – 1.58.4 Final Half: – 57.7 Margins: – 4m, 3m
BLACKBOOKER: – Reigning Pepper
Trial 2: – JULIACA speared to the front in the early stages and gave nothing else a chance. She established a large lead early in the trial and maintained her advantage throughout to win by 30m. BETTORZ BEACH came from six back on the markers to comfortably finish second in front of BETTOR B NICE, which settled one position ahead of her stable mate and tried to make up ground in the back straight on the final occasion. The trotters BACARDI WOOD and CUSTODIAN were fourth and fifth respectively. BACARDI WOOD settled four back on the markers while CUSTODIAN made up ground from seventh and wasn’t really extended. LOUISIANA JO (Roll With Joe – Western Jazz) had the task of trying to drag the field up to the runaway leader and finished sixth in front of SKY CHICKA (Elsu – Chicka Chicka 1.59.1, $22,017), which was three back on the markers throughout. ROCKIN IN MEMPHIS settled in last position and galloped with 500m remaining.
Mile Rate: – 2.0.1 Final Half: – 58.1 Margins: – 30m, 10m
Trial 3: – WESTERN SONADOR was driven aggressively in the early stages and took the lead away from the original front runner in ROSALEE DOT COM. Once he found the front, he ran along at an even tempo and went to the line hard held to win comfortably. SLINGSHOT finished very strongly from four back on the markers to finish an eye-catching second. JOONIOR BROWN appeared to have every chance to finish closer from three back on the markers and was clearly beaten by the top pair. YARRAWONGA LASSIE settled six back on the markers and performed nicely to finish fourth albeit a good margin behind WESTERN SONADOR. CRESCO GERONIMO finished fifth after being five back on the markers throughout. He finished in front of COOL ROCKING DADDY (last the markers) and ROSALEE DOT COM, which started to yield ground from the 650m mark.
Mile Rate: – 2.0.4 Final Half: – 59.5 Margins: – 4m, 5m
Trial 4: – MAJESTIC ACTION galloped away from the standing start and lost approximately 20m early but no one really wanted the front and the pace was extremely slow so it didn’t take him long to tack onto the main division. He made a lightning move around the field with 500m remaining and sustained the run to win easily. SEVERE STORM was trailing the leader for most of the trial and was giving MAJESTIC ACTION a healthy start when she eventually came to the outside. She chased gamely and ran a nice second. ANTIGONUS set up the slow tempo in the lead but couldn’t accelerate when the sprint went on in the final stages. He finished third ahead of GENTLEMAN SIR, which started to race fiercely in the last lap and ran straight into the sulky of SEVERE STORM before galloping with 400m remaining.
Mile Rate: – 2.12.1 Final Half: – 60.5 Margins: – 10m, 12m

Mile Rate: – 1.57.6 Final Half: – 57.56 Margins: – 1.5m, 25.5m
BACCHUS MARSH 26/10/19
Trial 1: – MISTER GLEE (Mr Feelgood – Love You More) has had an extensive trial campaign but he is starting to show improvement and he took out the opening trial from GOZO COURAGE. The trotter LEANNE LEEANN, which dashed home for second at her latest Kilmore race track appearance, was third ahead of TAUTO JANE. BLISSFULL SAPPHIRE (Blissfull Hall – Dark Blue Sapphire 1.57.1, $21,880) finished ahead of another qualifier in EARS TO YOU (Fly Like An Eagle – Bye Bye Luv Lombo 1.58.3, $6,210).
Mile Rate: – 2.11.9 Final Half: – 61.7 Margins: – 3m, 2m
Trial 2: – MISS DANGERFIELD was beaten by a long way in the race won by Manthadee at Melton but she didn’t perform badly as she was left stranded without cover in very quick time. She won her trial by a large margin and finished off in a slick final half of 58.1 seconds. MIRARI, which hasn’t started since racing greenly at Melton back in June was second ahead of THE CATALYST. The last three across the line were UPTON GIRL, WILL HE STAR and LUCKY KERINGLE.
Mile Rate: – 2.7.3 Final Half: – 58.1 Margins: – 30m, 3m

Mile Rate: – 2.5.4 Final Half: – 61.5 Margins: – Head, 20m
YARRA VALLEY 27/10/19
Trial 1: – The Mario Stella prepared FEEL THE BUZZ was able to take out the first trial from WILL AND ANDY, which was stood down to trial after a seventh at Cranbourne on October 21. He did finish off well for third at Yarra Valley at his previous attempt and obviously bounced back with his trial second. OHOKA DIESEL, which is a last start winner, finished third ahead of CHARISMA KING (Justanotherpoorboy – She’s Limited 2.2.6, $10,550) with DATIZIT coming in last of the five runners.

Mile Rate: – Not Given Final Half: – Not Given Margin: – Neck
MARYBOROUGH 27/10/19
Trial 1: – SUNROSE MASTER led throughout from the pole position and recorded a handy time for the last 800m. He appeared to be lazy when in the lead and picked up late when challenged. SIXTY was beautifully driven by Mark Hayes to find the back of the leader from barrier four. He used the sprint lane and just failed to grab the winner. OUR SIR OLIVER settled three back on the markers and came out three horses wide approaching the final corner. He tried hard and his own sectionals would have been quick. JACKS COMMAND finished last of the four but wasn’t beaten by far after racing on the outside of the leader throughout.
Mile Rate: – 2.3.3 Final Half: – 57.4 Margins: – Short Head, 6m
Trial 2: – DREAM OVER began best and was able to trot to the lead shortly after the start. He set up a slow tempo and won comfortably at the finish. CORK was held up for a run at a vital stage but finished quickly once he gained a clear passage. He finished second in front of DYNAMIC DIESEL, which trailed the leader throughout. SAMS A YANK (Muscles Yankee – Flash And Flair) had to angle passed the galloping horses HOMONYM (Majestic Son – A Touch Of Sun) and ONEOUTOFTHESQUARE (Crazed – My Missindependent 2.2.8, $266,662) early and settled in fourth position. He remained in fourth at the finish in front of HOMONYN, which didn’t lose as much ground as ONEOUTOFTHESQUARE at the start then latched onto his back for cover in the last lap before galloping momentarily again at the 600m mark. ONEOUTOFTHESQUARE finished last after losing approximately 30m at the start, circling around into the breeze then fading late.
Mile Rate: – 2.8.3 Final Half: – 61.4 Margins: – 4m, 8m
Trial 3: – The start of this trial was extremely competitive with FOWSANDS, THE FAMILY GUY and the trotter WELL DEFINED all charging out looking for the lead in the first 300m. Eventually, FOWSANDS held sway from the pole position with WELL DEFINED easing back from the middle to trail the leader and THE FAMILY GUY cutting across from three wide to be the third one back on the markers. EDWIN BROMAC was four back on the markers in front of MIA FROM MEMPHIS and MELODYS DAUGHTER. The lead time was very quick and it took it’s toll on the leaders. MIA FROM MEMPHIS moved into the death seat from the bell and coasted to the lead at the quarter pole. She was never really extended and won easily. MELODYS DAUGHTER never left the markers and was held up for a run at a vital stage before making up a lot of ground along the sprint lane in the final 100m. THE FAMILY GUY held on well for third in front of the early pacemaker FOWSANDS. WELL DEFINED tired in the final 100m but under the circumstances, it was a good performance by the trotter after using a lot of energy early. EDWIN BROMAC tried to follow MIA FROM MEMPHIS in the final circuit but was struggling a long way from home and came in a distant last.
Mile Rate: – 2.3.5 Final Half: – 60.1 Margins: – 6m, 4m
Trial 4: – BELLADONNA GIRL was slow to begin from the pole position and settled three back on the markers. She came to the outside at the 600m mark and joined the leader CALYPSO MISTRESS (Caribbean Blaster – Need A Boyfriend 2.2.9, $14,296) approaching the home turn. CALYPSO MISTRESS galloped and rolled BELLADONNA GIRL out very wide on the track but she was still able to remain balanced and worked away to win the trial. NIGHT PERFORMER trailed the leader and appeared to be beaten at the quarter pole but gained the lead when the trouble occurred on the home turn. Despite having the perfect trip, he found BELLADONNA GIRL to be too strong at the finish. ORPHAN CODY (Grinfromeartoear – Can Y Gwent 1.59.8, $21,055) followed inside runs from last on the markers to finish third and CALYPSO MISTRESS galloped for the entire home straight.
Mile Rate: – 2.5.7 Final Half: – 59.5 Margins: – 15m, 10m
Trial 5: – CEE VEE VEE began quickly from a wide alley to find the lead and ran along at an even tempo. GOBSMACKED settled last and moved into the death seat at the 700m mark. He quickly charged alongside CEE VEE VEE and the pair went in unison up to the finishing post. CEE VEE VEE kicked back strongly to win but he was under hard driving while GOBSMACKED appeared to have something in reserve on his outside. JAY JAY SHADY settled four back on the markers and tried to follow behind GOBSMACKED in the latter stages. He finished a distant third ahead of CREDON STAR (3 back markers) and TOUCH OF ARMBRO dropped out to last after trailing the leader throughout.
Mile Rate: – 2.2.2 Final Half: – 58.4 Margins: – Head, 10m
Trial 6: – ALEPPO MURPHY is making a habit out of starting from massive handicaps and winning trials at Maryborough. He started from the handicap of 80m, and probably added to that handicap with a slow beginning early. IMA ZIABEE set up a hectic tempo in the lead and ALEPPO MURPHY was still approximately 40m behind half way down the back straight but the final sectionals were very slow and he was able to tack on before rushing over the top late. MISTER CHISOLM galloped momentarily at the start and settled three back on the markers before switching around JEDSTAR (Imperial Count – Tangalan Jack 2.5.6, $43,090), which was struggling to keep up with the strong pace early. He got over the top of IMA ZIABEE to finish second and JEDSTAR ended up finishing last of the four runners.
Mile Rate: – 2.4.8 Final Half: – 62.3 Margins: – 4m, 3m
BENDIGO 27/10/19
Trial 1: – MAR PACIFICO settled three back on the markers and came to the outside with 600m remaining. He ambled up on the outside of the early leader JAY BEE FLEX and drew away with seemingly plenty in reserve. JAY BEE FLEX wasn’t fully extended either in running second with SPIDERS DEVIL finishing third after momentarily being in front then trailing the leader for the remainder of the journey. MAZIKEEN (Bacardi Lindy – Photogenic Too) was very slow to move and lost approximately 30m at the start. She was able to latch onto the group mid-race and ended up finishing fourth. BAGSHOT BOY (Bacardi Lindy – Nikality) was unable to catch the group after galloping away and finished a tailed off last. All of the runners started off the front mark in this trial.
Mile Rate: – 2.7.8 Final Half: – 59.8 Margins: – 5m, 1m
Trial 2: – TRADE WHISPERS began very quickly to find the lead and was always travelling nicely. His winning margin was only a metre on the line but he still seemed to have something up his sleeve. COSTLY MISTAKE settled at the tail of the field and moved into the one out and one back trail with 500m remaining. He peeled to the outside around the final corner and finished quickly for second. VALKYRIE (Art Major – Our Chelsea Girl 2.2.4, $45,261) settled three back on the inside and was held up for a run at a vital stage before working home well for third. It was a good run for an unraced juvenile taking on older horses and the same could be said for WIPE THE CANVAS (Art Major – Wenona Maggie 1.58.9, $23,856), which moved into the death seat from four back on the markers in the back straight on the final occasion. HAND WRITER (Sportswriter – Perfect Katie 1.55.6, $130,363) was last of the five runners after settling three back on the markers.
Mile Rate: – 2.0.6 Final Half: – 58.8 Margins: – 1m, 3m
Trial 3: – COMANDANTE was able to lead and was unchallenged throughout the trial. VINCENT KAI settled three back on the markers and was able to get the better of DIAMOND REACTOR (Auckland Reactor – Superbarby 2.0.2, $15,421), which trailed the leader throughout, in the sprint up the straight. MISS FERRARI, which had one start back in May, was last of the four runners throughout.
Mile Rate: – 2.6.2 Final Half: – 61.9 Margins: – 9m, 5m
Trial 4: – FOURSTARZZZSPECIAL showed his usual early speed to find the lead and was able to string the field out by rolling along at a genuine tempo. OLLIE AND BROCK settled down second in front of TIZA NIGHTMARE, MARVELLOUS MAX and IDEAL VELOCITY with the field of five settling in a single file order. FOURSTARZZZSPECIAL got away in the back straight on the final occasion and scored easily but OLLIE AND BROCK did stick on well for second as there is quite a difference in the National Ratings between him and the winner. MARVELLOUS MAX came away from the inside and tried to get up to second on the home turn but galloped and lost his chance. He recovered for a distant third in front of TIZA NIGHTMARE, which yielded ground from the back straight and IDEAL VELOCITY appeared to lob along at the back without being pushed for the purpose of experience.
Mile Rate: – 1.58.7 Final Half: – 59.3 Margins: – 25m, 20m
Trial 5: – AJAY BREEZY ROSE has been very impressive at the trials and was able to coast to an easy victory after finding the lead shortly after the start. STAR DREAM finished second after trailing the leader. HEZA BRAXTON settled three back on the markers and came to the outside of STAR DREAM at the quarter pole but he peaked on his run late. THREE SHADOWS galloped at the start and lost approximately 15m. She remained last of the four runners throughout.
Mile Rate: – 2.1.1 Final Half: – 57.5 Margins: – 25m, 9m
ECHUCA 27/10/19
Trial 1: – The bold front running pacer MASTER MACH MANUS likes competing on the Echuca circuit and he was able to take out the opening trial from IN THE MOMENT, which hasn’t raced since January. MY ULTIMATE FELLA, which has been racing a lot in claiming events, finished last of the three runners.
Mile Rate: – 2.1.3 Final Half: – 61.5 Margins: – 3m, 15m
Trial 2: – DALLAS FRANCO only had the one start at his last preparation and is very lightly raced having only faced the starter on three occasions. He won the trial by a comfortable margin over the nicely bred filly MISHKA (Village Jolt – Elixir 1.55.1, $231,180). ALL ABOUT LEXY is a new acquisition for trainer Ben Yole and finished third ahead of the trotter BELLA LUCY, AJAYS RACER (P B Bullville – Globes Mistakes 2.3.2, $67,450) and THEANGRYWIFE (In The Pocket – Mistylyn).
Mile Rate: – 2.5.5 Final Half: – 60.0 Margins: – 4m, 12m
Trial 3: – PATCHWORK (Stonebridge Regal – Nirvana Castle) is related to a few handy trotting winners including the former Super Series winner Betty Hall (1.57.3, $77,565). He won the final trial from the pacer MISS MCMANUS, which hasn’t started since July and BUDDY HINSON (Majestic Son – Dottie Hinson 2.3.5, $48,295) finished last of the three runners.
Mile Rate: – 2.16.3 Final Half: – 67.0 Margins: – 50m, 70m
MELTON 29/10/19
Trial 1: – MATADEROS is an extremely good trotter when he puts it altogether and he stepped away nicely from the standing start to lead before completely dominating the trial. AVIMORE, which trialled really nicely a week earlier, trailed MATADEROS and lost a lot of ground on him once he extended in the final 150m. SOMBOMBA settled four back on the markers and lost touch with the leading duo when DEFENCE GOT JUMPED couldn’t sprint with them in the back straight on the final occasion. He trotted home nicely in the latter stages for third. DEFENCE GOT JUMPED finished fourth and STAR IN SIGHT was trotting very awkwardly in the first lap so he dropped out to be a long last.
Mile Rate: – 2.5.2 Final Half: – 60.45 Margins: – 33.5m, 16.5m
Trial 2: – MARGARET RUTH started from the handicap of 30m and stepped away safely as did the entire field. She quickly tacked onto the main group and waited until the 600m mark to make her move. She sustained the run and even though she seemingly switched off when she hit the lead, was able to go on and win the trial. MADENA SKY settled four back on the markers and moved into the one out and one back trail behind MARGARET RUTH. She chased hard and finished second ahead of BACARDI CARTA, which trailed the leader and dashed along the sprint lane over the final stages after being held up momentarily on the home turn. MUSCLETONIAN came from three back on the markers and was able to work passed the early leader ZAMBA DEVILLE.
Mile Rate: – 2.5.8 Final Half: – 59.45 Margins: – 1.5m, 3.5m
Trial 3: – LOVE INA CHEVY was able to worked to the lead from CARMY DAN in the early stages and ran along at a genuine tempo. He always appeared to be in control and won by a comfortable margin. AHA REACTION settled three back on the inside and pulled into the death seat at the half mile marker. He raced fiercely and ran off the track on the home corner but he balanced up and worked home nicely for second. CARMY DAN filled third position and LITTLE PEANUT ran last but never peeled to the outside and went to the line jogging.
Mile Rate: – 1.55.0 Final Half: – 56.63 Margins: – 5m, Short ½ Head.
BLACKBOOKER: – Little Peanut
Trial 4: – AMOUR DE FRERE has had her gait issues in the past but she is trialling well and was very impressive in taking out the fourth trial. She settled down last of the four, made a move at the 600m and used sheer speed at the end to gun down the early leader REILS. That pair drew away from the others with MEZIAH coming from behind HEDGE YOUR BET to pick up third in the run to the judge.
Mile Rate: – 2.0.2 Final Half: – 58.87 Margins: – 3m, 10.5m
BLACKBOOKER: – Amour De Frere
Trial 5: – ERROR began well and was able to trail the leader ROYLANCE throughout. She came to the outside with 150m remaining and quickly zipped to the lead to win drawing away. ROYLANCE held down second in front of BULL TERROR, which raced without cover early before gaining a trail behind SEAROVER, which moved to the death seat. WILL HE STAR settled three back on the markers and finished fifth in front of THE CATALYST (5 back markers, 1-2 at bell). DEAL BREAKER was never a chance after missing the start by approximately 30m and WARP SENSA HUMA (The Warp Drive – Fancy Spurs 2.1.7, $5,885) started to yield ground from four back on the markers in the back straight on the final occasion.
Mile Rate: – 1.57.5 Final Half: – 58.2 Margins: – 10.5m, 16.5m
Trial 6: – The Bill Collins Sprint winner MCLOVIN trailed the leader DESTINEE JENILOU and proved too strong in the latter stages. The top mare DANCE CRAZE ran another nice trial. She settled behind MCLOVIN and was picking up ground late in fast final sectionals. In all of her trials this campaign, she hasn’t been fully extended as yet. DESTINEE JENILOU dropped out to be last of the three but she was competing against two top class horses.
Mile Rate: – 1.58.8 Final Half: – 56.94 Margins: – 1.5m, 6m
Trial 7: – RADICAL MAJOR was the only horse racing away from the marker pegs for the first 1000m of the trial and he gradually pressed forward from the second half of the field to get into second position. He was able to get a breather by dropping in behind the leader IDEALLY AMERICAN (American Ideal – Snug Harbour) with 500m remaining before coming to the outside again in the straight. He was able to grind out a victory over the concluding stages. IDEALLY AMERICAN raced greenly and wanted to lay out approaching the home turn but he kicked on strongly once challenged. MISTER GLEE (Mr Feelgood – Love You More) was five back on the markers before moving away from the inside at the 600m. He battled on well for third in front of PLAYFUL MISS (Shadow Play – Indigo Smile 1.59.1, $28,550), which settled four back on the markers and used the sprint lane. DREAM SWEETLY (Sweet Lou – Trammell 2.1.1, $15,264) finished fifth after settling three back on the markers in front of SNAZOLA (Tell All – Jackieola) (trailed leader) and JUMPSTART (Village Jolt – Lifersaver Lady 2.1.8, $6,550) (6 back markers). CORA MOR (Julius Caesar – Full Of Aces 1.57.1, $20,181) was tailed off after galloping at the start.
Mile Rate: – 1.59.5 Final Half: – 60.63 Margins: – Head, 5m
Trial 8: – DEFENCE POWER trailed the leader FLING IT RAINBOW (Fling It – Rainbow Reflection) and charged to the lead on the home turn. He broke away in the home straight to win easily. FLING IT RAINBOW began very quickly but raced fiercely throughout and became very leg weary in the straight. He started to trot roughly in the final 100m but still finished second by a large margin. CHAMPAGNE RIVER settled down last and moved up without cover, albeit a long way from the leader, at the bell. She finished third in front of MY LINDY ANGELS (Bacardi Lindy – My Two Angels), which was in the death seat until working around SAINT CALDER (Muscle Hill – Like A Calder) at the 1100m. SAINT CALDER started three back on the markers but had a tendency to hang in and was yielding ground a long way from home.
Mile Rate: – 2.2.9 Final Half: – 62.11 Margins: – 23m, 37.5m
Trial 9: – ARDEN VOYAGER dashed across from a wide draw to find the lead and ran along at a genuine tempo. He appeared to have something in reserve and recorded a slick mile rate of 1.54.6. FLY CHEVAL settled three back on the markers but finished off nicely for second ahead of MADEEBA, which went with ARDEN VOYAGER for the first 200m before taking a trail behind him. MISSCHANEL was fourth back on the markers throughout and finished ahead of BONZA GUY, which moved to the outside from last at the 600m but appeared to hang in around the final corner.
Mile Rate: – 1.54.6 Final Half: – 56.74 Margins: – 7.5m, 4m
SHEPPARTON 29/10/19
Trial 1: – TWEET ABOUT IT pushed forward to find the lead shortly after the start and enjoyed a good run thereafter. She was able to coast home to win comfortably and recorded a handy final half of 57.7 seconds. SOMEDAYLADY began best and worked to the front but was quick to restrain for cover. She came to the outside before the home turn and got within a half of a length of TWEET ABOUT IT before TWEET ABOUT IT pulled away again late. STARRY MACH settled last and was five back on the markers after the trotter MAJESTIC ACTION made an error. He was caught behind FALLING SHARDS (4 back the markers), which couldn’t keep up and spotted the leaders approximately 30m start with 700m remaining. He made up good ground before being planted out four horses wide on the home bend. Considering he was only beaten by 4m, it was a very good run. CRESCO GERONIMO settled three back on the markers and finished fourth. FALLING SHARDS dropped out to fifth and MAJESTIC ACTION was tailed off after an early indiscretion.
Mile Rate: – 2.1.8 Final Half: – 57.7 Margins: – 2m, 2m
Trial 2: – WAYONBYE was in the one out and one back trail early before moving around to find the front with a mile remaining. He travelled nicely in the lead and went on to win the trial under a strong hold. HUDSEN trailed the early leader MISTER ZHIVAGO and ended up being three back on the markers when that horse took cover. He came to the outside coming around the final corner and ran up to WAYONBYE but he couldn’t draw past and he had to be content with second placing. HUDSEN also appeared to have something in reserve at the finish. MISTER ZHIVAGO held down third well clear of OUR SUMMER BAY, which raced without cover before being eased onto the markers in front of HEAVEN IN LOCKSLEY with 1100m remaining. HEAVEN IN LOCKSLEY paced roughly coming up to the bell and never really recovered, finishing a good distance from the winner.
Mile Rate: – 2.0.2 Final Half: – 58.5 Margins: – Head, 4m
Trial 3: – WESTERN SONADOR continued his extremely good trial form with another easy victory. He was eased at the start before making a forward move and working passed STARESS with 1200m remaining. He was in complete control thereafter and drew clear to win by a large margin and without being pushed. GENTLEMAN SIR settled last of the five runners and made a dash from the 800m mark. Considering the final half was run in 58.4 seconds, it was a good performance by the trotter to loom up on the home turn then hold down second in the straight. MISS ARTEMIS was able to slot in behind the leader on the first turn then was shuffled back one position when WESTERN SONADOR made his move. She finished fourth ahead of NATIONAL DRAFT (4 back markers) and STARESS tired to run last but he may have had a flat tyre.
Mile Rate: – 2.2.5 Final Half: – 58.4 Margins: – 15m, 5m
BLACKBOOKER: – Western Sonador
Trial 4: – PARK LIFE is another horse that has been impressive at the trials recently and he was untouched in scoring. He settled three back on the markers and shot away in the latter stages. DIAMOND ACE led out then took cover behind YERRINGTON BOB. He allowed PARK LIFE to work by him on the home turn and tried to chase in the latter stages but he couldn’t peg back the margin. YERRINGTON BOB finished third and was a long way in front of SAMMARI, which settled last on the markers and TIME TRAVELLER came in at the tail of the field. TIME TRAVELLER was pulling hard four back on the markers, moved into the death seat at the bell but faded shortly afterwards.

Trial 1: – FEISTY PHOEBE (Modern Art – Apple Sorbet) led early before being shuffled back to third at the mile marker. She enjoyed a good run on the inside before peeling three horses wide into the home straight and finishing off best to score. CMONBABYLITEMYFIRE (Courage Under Fire – Koori Art 1.58.2, $18,783) settled in last position before moving into the one out and one back trail in the back straight on the final occasion. She ended up being out four horses wide on the home turn but finished well for second. YARRAWONGA LASSIE was four back on the markers for the majority of the trial before moving into the death seat at the 500m mark. She hit the lead on the home turn but was swamped by FEISTY PHOEBE and CMONBABYLITEMYFIRE in the latter stages. LETS GO LENNY (Modern Art – Milly Jasper) trailed the leader FEISTY PHOEBE early before moving around to take the lead then found cover behind CALYPSO MISTRESS (Caribbean Blaster – Need A Boyfriend 2.2.9, $14,296). He did finish ahead of CALYPSO MISTRESS as the judge called a halt. CALYPSO MISTRESS raced greenly at various stages, particularly on the first turn.
Mile Rate: – 2.5.1 Final Half: – 60.6 Margins: – Head, 5m
Trial 2: – MADAME ANNIE led throughout in the field of three and never looked like being beaten. She cut loose in the back straight on the final occasion and established a big lead and even though she was shortening stride a little in the latter stages, was still able to win by a large margin. ULTIMATE ME finished second and didn’t really chase MADAME ANNIE while MISTER MANHATTAN remained last of the three throughout.
Mile Rate: – 2.0.5 Final Half: – 58.2 Margins: – 25m, 1m
Trial 3: – TALEGGIO settled last of the four runners and moved into the one out and one back trail in the back straight on the final occasion. He came to the outside on the home turn and finished off too well in the straight. COULD BE WOODY trailed the leader early before being shuffled back one position mid-race. He moved to the outside at the 600m mark and battled on reasonably well for second. CHU CHITS settled down third before working around the field to lead at the mile marker. She finished third in front of ANOTHER MORTGAGE, which led out, took cover, and yielded ground from the 500m mark.
Mile Rate: – 2.6.0 Final Half: – 63.1 Margins: – 2m, 5m
Trial 4: – SAY YOUR PRES has travelled down from New South Wales and joins trainer Brent Lilley. He stepped away well from the standing start to be second before moving around the early front runner in DAQUIRI to find the lead effortlessly. DAQUIRI tried to raise an effort in the final stages but SAY YOUR PRES appeared to have plenty in reserve to record a narrow but decisive victory. ROBBIE ZUVE was three back on the markers throughout and finished ahead of BELLES SON.
