WARRAGUL 13/04/19

Trial 1: - ROLL WITH ROCKY was the best performed horse in the trial and dashed home in a handy final half of 57.7 seconds to be successful. He hasn’t started since August but he showed enough ability last season to suggest he will win races this term. PERSHING is an unraced 3yo out of the former classy mare Sunset Soky and finished only four metres behind the winner. The nicely bred pacer VALONTE SWAN (Western Terror) and also SAUCEY LITTLE MEL (Modern Art) were both beaten by large margins.

Mile Rate: 2.5.2                Final Half: 57.7                  Margins: 4, Distanced

Trial 2: - EMILIANA was a C6 assessed pacer taking on the maiden class so he was entitled to win the trial. He settled last of the four runners and raced without cover from the bell to score with something in reserve. ROCKNROLL PEARL led comfortably and kicked on nicely in a final half of 57.9 seconds to be beaten a neck. The unraced 3yo DEFT TOUCH (Mr. Feelgood) performed nicely. He settled three back on the inside and was doing his best work at the end, seemingly with something in reserve. CASINO CAT finished last of the four runners after trailing the leader.

Mile Rate: 2.3.7                Final Half: 57.9                  Margins: Neck, 3m

BALLARAT 13/04/19

Trial 1: - ARTEMEDE (Art Major) settled three back on the inside and finished off solidly to win the trial with trainer Emma Stewart taking the drive. MAAJIDA (Somebeachsomewhere) followed ARTEMEDE throughout and finished hard out wide on the track for an eye-catching second. JO DINA, which finished fourth in the Bathurst Gold Tiara, led in the trial and was gunned down late suggesting the first two place getters are worth following. THE GAME CHANGER finished last of the four after trailing the leader.

Mile Rate: 2.2.6                Final Half: 57.3                  Margins: Head, Head

Blackbookers: - Artemede, Maajida

Trial 2: - PACIFICO DREAM started quickly and dashed passed LIGHTNING LANA early with MACH DAN settling last of the three. LIGHTNING LANA broke stride at the 1700m and tailed out. MACH DAN moved away from the markers to challenge PACIFICO DREAM from the 700m. It was a good battle between the pair with the Bathurst Gold Crown place getter MACH DAN just prevailing in a quick final half of 56.3 seconds.

Mile Rate: 2.1.3                Final Half: 56.3                  Margins: Hd, 150m

Trial 3: - SWIMSUIT EDITION settled behind the leader BE MY BABY and moved away from the inside at the 400m to record a convincing victory. JOBELLS IMAGE (Always A Virgin) was last of the three competitive horses in the trial and worked home well with something in reserve to finish second. The nicely bred filly BE MY BABY was gunned down late but importantly, she showed very good early pace and led by fifteen metres before the first turn. CALDER ON ICE finished last of the four runners after beginning very slowly.

Mile Rate: 1.58.0              Final Half: 56.6                  Margins: 12m, 3m

Blackbooker: - Jobells Image

Trial 4: - It was a clash between two outstanding 3yo pacers with the filly KUALOA, which is known more for her strength than speed, trailing the leader DEMON DELIGHT and getting the better of him late. KUALOA was pushed out a little harder than DEMON DELIGHT but neither were fully extended and the final half was recorded in a slippery 55.1 seconds. BIG BAD BRUCE from four back the markers worked passed STRUVE late while SAFARI CHEER was last of the five throughout.

Mile Rate: 2.0.4                Final Half: 55.1                  Margins: Head, 12m

Trial 5: - It was another trial dominated by the stars of the Emma Stewart stable with TELL ME TALES trailing the leader BERISARI and getting up to win narrowly. The final half was a sensational 54.2 seconds and she seemingly had something in reserve! DELIGHT ME finished ten metres away third after settling three back on the markers but she wasn’t pushed out to the line. GOONLY and PRESIDENTIALSECRET were fourth and fifth respectively throughout the entire trial.

Mile Rate: 1.57.6              Final Half: 54.2                  Margins: Head, 10m

BACCHUS MARSH 13/04/19

Trial 1: - BETTER EXCLUSIVE (Bettors Delight) took out a slowly run trial for trainer Ted Caruana. ELLIPSIS, which has been unplaced in three starts to date, finished second with CALEDONIAN TERRA in third. UNION BOSS (Union Guy) finished in fourth position about three lengths from the winner.

Mile Rate: 2.8.1                Final Half: 60.8                  Margins: 1.5m, 1.5m

Trial 2: - This trial was for the 2yo Trotters with ROBLEN DANCER (Yankee Spider) being successful by three metres over JADE NIEN and DARING ANGEL, both of which raced at Maryborough. DARING ANGEL has been placed at her past three attempts, which gives some lead to the ability of ROBLEN DANCER. WILCANNIA (Andover Hall) finished last of the quartet.

Mile Rate: 2.12.7              Final Half: 62.2                  Margins: 3m, 6m

Trial 3: - ALL LIT UP was stood down to trial after finishing twelfth at Melton on April 06. Being a T8 assessed trotter, he was clearly the class horse of the field and was able to salute comfortably. ARU AND ME hasn’t raced since having two attempts in November 2017 and finished second with ZAMBA DEVILLE in third position.

Mile Rate: 2.9.8                Final Half: 61.2                  Margins: 15m, 4m

Trial 4: - OL TITCH (Sportswriter) was successful by a comfortable margin for trainer Jess Tubbs. DREAM ASSET (American Ideal) was the only 2yo in the trial and considering the reasonable time for Bacchus March and that she defeated the remainder of the 3yo pacers by a good margin, it was obviously a nice effort. She is out of the former classy mare Ay Tee Em. MISS OPIE (Bells And Whistles) was a distance away in third position. CHANGE OF PLANS, the only horse in this trial to have raced previously (7-0-0-0), finished fourth with NOBLE JULIA (Julius Caesar) being last of the five runners.

Mile Rate: 2.5.6                Final Half: 61.2                  Margins: 5m, 25m

Trial 5: - SAVE THE GAME took out the trial for the maiden class. He won a race at St Arnaud during his last preparation and he took on three other maiden runners so he did appear to be well placed. In a slowly run trial he scored comfortably from MEGAFELLA, IOWA HANOVER and LEBOWSKI.

Mile Rate: 2.8.4                Final Half: 60.6                  Margins: 8m, 3m

Trial 6: - The pacing bred REJUVENATE won the maiden trotting trial by thirty metres in a slow mile rate of 2.17.7. THREE ONE TWO ONE finished second with HATZ OFF TO LARRY (Pegasus Spur) eight metres away in third. A distant last was JOEANNAS PRIDE, which boasts an interesting sire line. By the unraced Uturnbay, sire of just 30 foals (1 winner thus far), out of a Screen Play (NZ) mare, out of a Franco Glen (NZ) mare, he boasts mostly pacing blood in his family.

Mile Rate: 2.17.7              Final Half: 63.8                  Margins: 30m, 8m

Trial 7: - YOU NINETY TWO for trainer Peter Salathiel took out the final trial and recorded a handy final half of 59.1 seconds, which is handy for Bacchus Marsh. THE DEFIANT finished in second position and CORNISH SMUGGLER (Betterthancheddar), which is yet to make his debut finished third. He was thirteen metres from the winner but he was taking on proven winners so it was obviously a handy trial performance. IMPRESSIVE GUY finished last of the four runners.

Mile Rate: 2.5.1                Final Half: 59.1                  Margins: 3m, 10m

ARARAT 13/04/19

Trial 1: - THE SPORTZ STAR (Sportswriter) for trainer Kerryn Manning took out the opening trial by a handy margin. THE BUTCHER (Denver Gift) finished second and defeated the two trotters COURTESY CHANCERY and LORD CHANCELLOR by a long way. Interestingly, the two Peter Manning trained runners are full brother and sister being by Majestic Son out of the good mare Chancery Lane.

Mile Rate: 2.9.1                Final Half: 61.8                  Margins: 10m, 60m

Trial 2: - ROCKNROLL OPAL took out trial two for trainer Brad Hunt. He recorded a reasonable mile rate of 2.0.7 but the final quarter was a slow 31.3 seconds. NOWHERE CREEK finished second just in front of SMILING DIAZ with FRANKNTANK a distance away in fourth position.

Mile Rate: 2.0.7                Final Half: 60.3                  Margins: 5m, Head

Trial 3: - COSTLY ASSASSIN (Courage Under Fire) for trainer and driver Grant Campbell won the last of the three trials over STYLISH GEM, which performed well at Mildura last preparation, with the recent Terang victor MISS CHIANTI finishing third. WESTERNVIEW MARTY (Artesian) finished last of the four runners some nineteen metres away from the winner.

Mile Rate: 2.5.5                Final Half: 61.0                  Margins: 4m, 5m

TERANG 14/04/19

Trial 1: - QUEEN OF CRIME (Sportswriter) is out of the speedy mare Our Crime of Passion and defeated KOWALSKI ANALYSIS (Roll With Joe) in the opening trial. Trainer Matthew Craven prepares both of these juvenile pacers and he continues to build up a good team. JULIUS SHADOW (Julius Caesar) and SPORTY CULTURE (Sportswriter) finished third and fourth respectively with the trotter MAORI AMOUR, the only horse to have faced the starter previously, being last of the five runners.

Mile Rate: 2.3.8                Final Half: 59.9                  Margins: 4m, Head

Trial 2: - JILLIBY JACKPOT was placed in all of his three starts at his first preparation of racing and appears to have come back just as well this year after an easy trial victory over the nicely bred CHICAGO NIGHTS (Art Major), which is out of the former Breeders Crown Champion Led Suitcase. ATOMIC JULIA finished third with LIGHTNING BLUECHIP in fourth. KARIAH BLISS (Artesian) met quite a handy trial field leading up to her debut and finished last of the five runners.

Mile Rate: 2.3.0                Final Half: 59.1                  Margins: 8m, Head

Trial 3: - BOLD HUSSY had the advantage of race experience over her rivals and won comfortably. QUALITY SUNSET (Quality Cam) was a 2yo trotter taking on older horses and even though the mile rate was slow (2.12.6), she did well to hold down second. MAGICOOL SPIDER (Yankee Spider) is out of the former handy mare Free Rider and finished third in front of AUSSIE COMMANDO.

Mile Rate: 2.12.6              Final Half: 62.8                  Margins: 9m, 8m

Trial 4: - BEZZA has been in good form throughout the season and recorded reasonable time in defeating CORPORAL BILL. MENDED finished third in the trial and subsequently won after doing things wrong at Bendigo so the form in this trial adds up. EASTBRO JESSE finished fourth and RUN CHESTER RUN (Tintin In America) is yet to make his debut so he met a very hard line up.

Mile Rate: 2.1.3                Final Half: 58.2                  Margins: 5m, 8m

Trial 5: - The open class trial of the night went to KEAYANG DESTINY. The form of the horses in this trial is fairly exposed and on facts and figures, everything went as expected. THE CULLECTOR, which has been in great form, ran second and MOTLAP MAGIC was third. QUAINT GLEN (4th) has returned to Victoria after a long stint in New South Wales and is now with trainer Matthew Craven.

Mile Rate: 2.0.5                Final Half: 57.0                  Margins: 1m, 3m

Trial 6: - JILLIBY SPIDERMAN raced to an easy 10m victory and subsequently backed it up with a win at Melton. KEAYANG LIVANA (Imperial Count) finished second and considering the effort of JILLIBY SPIDERMAN later in the week, it becomes a promising effort. JILLIBY BULLDOG finished third and was also placed in the race won by JILLIBY SPIDERMAN at Melton. The 2yo trotter DOUBLE HELIX and IPSEY WIPSY (Yankee Spider) finished fourth and fifth respectively.

Mile Rate: 2.9.5                Final Half: 60.6                  Margins: 10m, 1m

Trial 7: - MAGICOOL is a very talented trotter for trainer Matthew Craven and continues to perform in great fashion. She was a dominant winner of this trial and recorded a slick final quarter of 28.4 seconds. The former South Australian trotter BOLD LAW finished second with the maiden EMMALINE a further thirty metres away third. GUS AN MAORI ended up being last of the four runners.

Mile Rate: 2.4.9                Final Half: 58.8                  Margins: 12m, 30m

Trial 8: - LUVYOUBABE is a speedy mare and considering she is a C2 assessed runner and defeated the good C4 class mare MY HARMONY BLUE in reasonable time (1.59.7), she should be winning a race at short notice. FATHER JUDGE finished a distant third but he did meet two very classy performers.

Mile Rate: 1.59.7              Final Half: 59.0                  Margins: 4m, 30m

Blackbooker: Luvyoubabe

MOOROOPNA 14/04/19

Trial 1: - STREAMLINER was a C4 assessed runner taking on two maiden class horses so he was entitled to win. He does possess early speed and that trial victory will be a confidence builder for his first run since January. The Brian Crossland trained pair BRAD CULLEN, a maiden from twenty-four starts, and the unraced CHARLEY TAMER (We Will See) finished second and third.

Mile Rate: 2.6.0                Final Half: 63.20               Margins: 6m, 15m

Trial 2: - JUNIOR WARFARE (Village Jolt), a 2yo pacer for trainer Greg Lewis won the final trial over PREACHERS DAUGHTER (Shadow Play) and the other juvenile pacer in the event JEMSOMS PET (Pet Rock) finished third. Last of the four runners was BEE GEE CEE (B G’s Folly). The mile rate was a slow 2.9.3 with a last half of 60.2 seconds.

Mile Rate: 2.9.3                Final Half: 60.20               Margins: 1.5m, 6m

MARYBOROUGH 14/04/19

Trial 1: - SIXTY settled one out and one back and came out three horses deep from the 800m to win impressively. Being a C8 assessed runner, he was clearly the class horse of the field but he dashed home his final 800m in a sizzling 56.3 seconds. METRO MAN is a speedy type and showed good early speed to lead. He held on well from a game EARS PONDER, which raced keenly without cover until SIXTY circled at the 800m. AVA MAY from three back the markers finished fourth and TOUCH OF ARMBRO was last of the five after racing behind the leader throughout.

Mile Rate: 2.2.4                Final Half: 56.3                  Margins: 12m, 5m

Trial 2: - CYRILISCIOUS settled second last and produced a big finish to win clearly. The final half was run in 59.1 seconds so his own sectional times were strong. BE A GOOD SCOUT (B G’s Folly) showed very good early pace to lead and held on in the straight. GOLLAHGOLD finished on strongly from last for a nice third. SHADY HANOVER (6th) and THE GREEN FAIRY (7th) were the two horses, which did the most work in the trial.

Mile Rate: 2.1.6                Final Half: 59.1                  Margins: 10m, 1m

Trial 3: - EPHALUMP began slowly from the pole position and ended up being fourth on the markers. She came away from the inside to race without cover from the 700m and held her rivals at bay. IT’S A BORG (Modern Art) settled three back on the inside before being shuffled back to last at the 400m and running home well out wide on the track. SYSTAMATIC followed the eventual winner in the final circuit and finished third with PEARLESCENT, which used the sprint lane in fourth. SOMEDEAL SAFARI worked passed PEARLESCENT to lead after 200m but faded into fifth late.

Mile Rate: 2.1.2                Final Half: 61.2                  Margins: 4m, 2m

Trial 4: - FINAL PEACE led comfortably and ran along at a genuine tempo. He established a big lead in the back straight and never looked like being beaten. ASH PARK (Lincoln Royal) settled second when CROMPTON BAY (Bonavista Bay) galloped momentarily shortly after the start and tried hard. GOELITZ (Roll With Joe) and KID CARABOTT (Village Jolt) settled fourth and fifth on the markers respectively. The field finished in which the order they settled with long intervals between them at the end.

Mile Rate: 2.1.7                Final Half: 59.2                  Margins: 20m, 20m

Trial 5: - The 2yo trotters took place in this trial and JAZSPUR had the advantage of race experience. She sprinted home too well from third on the markers. ZINGARA LASS (Louey Louey Louey) didn’t have the speed of JAZSPUR at the end but tried hard. CHER AMI made a mistake early and may have paced momentarily before being using plenty of energy to push forward and find the lead at the 1100m. LA BELLA FIGURA (Louey Louey Louey) finished fourth after having a good run in transit. RAGNA THOR (Fling It) made an error early and settled second last then showed speed in the back straight before breaking stride at the 400m. She did show a good turn of pace and BLACK AND GOLD (Ships Spur) picked up a lot of ground after missing away.

Mile Rate: 2.9.1                Final Half: 63.2                  Margins: 10m, 4m

Trial 6: - RUNAWAY SUCCESS won the Breeders Crown Silver Trot Final last season and led throughout to win the trial with relative ease. EXOTIC BOUCHEA tried hard after trailing the leader throughout while SUGAR DANNI was doing her best work at the end from fourth on the markers. MY AMBITION and MY KITTY appeared to have their chance to finish closer while REMI FLYER made an error at the 1600m.

Mile Rate: 2.7.4                Final Half: 59.6                  Margins: 5m, 2m

Trial 7: - THE NIGHT KING (Danny Bouchea) stepped away nicely from the standing start to lead, appeared to be in control then galloped at the 600m, losing about twenty metres. He gathered momentum and picked up the leading duo on the home turn to win well. It was a slow mile rate and last half (2.11.3, 66.3) but he would have won easily had he not made the error in the back straight. TRUSCOTT HALL began slowly from the handicap of 40m and did plenty of chasing throughout. He finished second in front of BLUE SPARKLER (Danny Bouchea), which trailed the leader throughout.

Mile Rate: 2.11.3              Final Half: 66.3                  Margins: 8m, 15m

MELTON 15/04/19

Trial 1: - The field of five trotters all stepped away safely from the standing start before KANO IMOGEN broke stride shortly afterwards. ILLCRYIFHEWINDS began swiftly from the handicap of 20m to find the front with the 3yo trotter DREAM MASTAR taking the trail behind. JUST ANYTHING settled fourth with CROWN DREAM fifth but he galloped wildly at the 700m and lost valuable ground. ILLCRYIFHEWINDS comfortably held DREAM MASTAR but the Breeders Crown runner up was very good in the run to the finish. JUST ANYTHING seemingly had plenty in reserve in third position.

Mile Rate: 2.6.8                Final Half: 59.9                  Margins: 3.5m, 6m

Blacbooker: - Dream Mastar

Trial 2: - HES GODS GIFT settled down third and moved up without cover from the 800m. He was strong at the finish and held off a determined challenge from the open class trotter RED HOT TOOTH with the final half being a slick 56.2 seconds. WHATS IN THE ESKY fired to the lead in the early stages and ended up in third with FIRE SAFE being last of the four after trailing the leader throughout.

Mile Rate: 2.0.7                Final Half: 56.3                  Margins: 1.5m, 3m

Trial 3: - IM DADDY WARBUCKS (Angus Hall) settled last of the three competitive chances and finished off with the most momentum to win well. He is nicely bred being out of the Classic winning mare Miss Warbucks. ZIPPIN AROUND found the lead quickly and dictated the terms. She just held onto second from IS THAT A BID, which closed in late via the sprint lane. GATESYS GIRL galloped away and lost all chance.

Mile Rate: 2.7.7                Final Half: 62.4                  Margins: 1/2Neck, ½ Head

Blacbooker: I’m Daddy Warbucks

Trial 4: - CHIEF RUNNINGCLOUD led out then took cover behind PRETTY MAJESTIC at the 1600m. He showed good acceleration via the sprint lane to score (28.6 last quarter). PRETTY MAJESTIC won the Victoria Oaks last season and didn’t quite perform up to that level in her trial second but she should be getting fitter. Three horses made errors in the trial but all of them showed quite a bit of ability. BOUTTEMONT did well to recover for third, LEFT RIGHT ANDCENTRE made up a stack of ground for fourth and FOREVER KRONOS (Yield Boko), which is a half sister to I’m Daddy Warbucks (trial 3), was going to finish a lot closer before making a second mistake at the 400m. ITS NOT DARK YET finished fifth after settling on the markers.

Mile Rate: 2.5.2                Final Half: 59.9                  Margins: 2m, 16m

Trial 5: - HEAVEN ATTRACTS won the brief battle for the lead and was allowed to dictate throughout. MACHANICAL (Mach Three) settled three back on the markers and moved up to try and challenge from the 400m. The former New Zealander LIKE A WILDFIRE, now with trainer Gavin Lang settled last of the four but couldn’t pick up ground on the leading duo. NICKY PINK LILY began quickly and ended up behind the leader but tired from the quarter pole.

Mile Rate: 2.0.7                Final Half: 59.1                  Margins: 5m, 32.5m

Trial 6: - SAMMY SHOWDOWN trailed the leader MONTPELLIER and was able to stride out beautifully in the final 200m to win very impressively. MONTPELLIER easily held down second with ORLANDO JOLT losing touch from the leading pair approaching the home turn. MATADEROS broke stride at the start and was always tailed off.

Mile Rate: 2.4.8                Final Half: 58.3                  Margins: 13.5m, 21.5m

Blacbooker: Sammy Showdown

Trial 7: - The Country Cups performer TOUGH CALL was saved up for one last crack at the leaders and finished on too well to defeat KATHYS SON, which led out then took cover at the bell before pouncing on the lead again at the 500m. BURNING CASH gained a nice run on the markers throughout and finished third. ALL DONE UP galloped in the score up and chased hard prior to the start to commence with the other trio before circling to find the front at the bell. The early effort took a toll and she tired late.

Mile Rate: 2.0.2                Final Half: 57.8                  Margins: 5.5m, 18m

Trial 8: - The Breeders Crown winning filly SLEEPEE couldn’t have been more impressive in winning. She led without being pushed out of the gate early then took cover behind SAINT GERMAIN and dashed home in a quick final quarter of 28.6 seconds. SAINT GERMAIN did trial well but met a class act in SLEEPEE on the night. ONEOFTHECLAN finished third but READYFORACTION probably would have filled that position had he not galloped approaching the home corner.

Mile Rate: 2.4.1                Final Half: 59.2                  Margins: 5.5m, 17.5m

Blackbooker: Sleepee

Trial 9: - WITHOUTTHETUH (Courage Under Fire) settled three back on the inside and used the sprint lane to win very softly at the end. SOUNDSLIKEART wasn’t the first into stride but he pushed forward to find the lead from SEW WHAT shortly afterwards and ended up in second as the judge called a halt. SEW WHAT finished third and stable mate A ROCKNROLL WALTZ (A Rocknroll Dance) appeared to be very green thus finishing last of the four runners.

Mile Rate: 1.58.8              Final Half: 58.4                  Margins: 2m, Neck

BENDIGO 15/04/19

Trial 1: - Only two horses contested the opening trial with IMA ZIABEE bouncing to the front from the standing start and always having a lead of approximately ten metres throughout. STAR GAZING finished in second.

Mile Rate: 2.13.9              Final Half: 63.8                  Margins: 13m

Trial 2: - WICKED LIQUOR led throughout to win the trial comfortably from DOWN UNDER LUCY, which trailed the leader throughout. The juvenile trotter FAIRFIELD FLYER (Skyvalley) and VINCENT KAI (Bacardi Lindy) were tailed out after making errors.

THE SPIN PROFESSOR (third the fence) and TOM KAT (4th the fence) finished fourth and fifth respectively.

Mile Rate: 1.59.6              Final Half: 57.0                  Margins: 8m, 6m

Trial 4: - REPEAT AFTER ME is a classy customer with a high turn of speed. He raced on the back of SPRINGFIELD TATTOO, which raced in the death seat throughout, and produced a solid finish to win decisively. SPRINGFIELD TATTOO battled on gamely in fast time. POPPYS PRINCESS worked through nicely after gaining a nice trail three back on the markers throughout. FOURSTARZZZSPECIAL showed good early pace to lead the field of six but was collared on the home turn.

Mile Rate: 1.58.1              Final Half: 58.1                  Margins: 2m, 4m

Trial 5: - As is the case with most trials that have a small field, the horses raced in single file. The result ended up being in the order in which they settled. AMENDMENT THIRTEEN has joined trainer Chris Svanosio after formerly being prepared by Emma Stewart. He led comfortably and held off his rivals. Those in pursuit were all close up with RACENE second, ARTISTIC SAINT third and ALWAYS GRINNING fourth.

Mile Rate: 2.4.3                Final Half: 60.3                  Margins: 1m, Head

Trial 6: - SHAQ is a promising juvenile and won softly. He wasn’t the fastest away but he worked passed the early leader HEZA BERGSTEIN at the 1300m and ambled around from that point onwards. JESSIES GIRL worked home nicely from three back on the markers to finish second with HEZA BERGSTEIN finishing third. The unraced 2yo KIDWITHAGRIN (Grinfromeartoear) raced without cover for the majority of the journey and dropped out from the 400m.

Mile Rate: 2.1.5                Final Half: 58.5                  Margins: 1m, 4m

Trial 7: - LUCINDA MAC and RORY MCHINSON were the class runners of the trial being assessed as T3 horses. LUCINDA MAC led comfortably while RORY MCHINSON settled in fourth before moving up without cover in the final lap. There was only a head separating the pair with LUCINDA MAC prevailing. SONNY BROOKE came from three back on the markers and finished third from TURTLE (5th the markers) and CAPRIOSKA (trailed leader). THE LAST SON broke stride in the early stages and finished a distant last.

Mile Rate: 2.6.9                Final Half: 59.4                  Margins: Head, 7m

KILMORE 16/04/19

Trial 1: - HATCHBACK has always shown some ability and was runner up in the Home Grown Classic last season. He is now with trainer Chris Lang and looked sharp in running passed SOBOMBA (Majestic Son) in the opening trial. BACARDI CHARDY stepped away nicely but galloped when leading 200m after the start. She showed good speed in the back straight on the final occasion and still appeared to be a chance before galloping again on the home turn.

Mile Rate: 2.8.7                Final Half: 63.1                  Margins: 6m, 25m

Trial 2: - There were only two runners in this trial and the race form is well exposed. HOLLYS MISS MOLLY led throughout to defeat KING SOLOMON although it appeared as though the latter was travelling better when he extricated to the outside with only 50m remaining.

Mile Rate: 2.2.6                Final Half: 59.7                  Margins: 2m

Trial 3: - OCEANIQUE (Somebeachsomewhere) trailed forward behind BELLISIMA in the final circuit and finished off too well. BELLISIMA settled last of the five runners before moving away from the inside and surging in the back straight. The open class trotter ONE OVER DA MOON went quickly in the back straight on the first occasion to lead at the 1600m. SPEEDY LEO led early then took cover before galloping on the home turn.
