Eight remain in the hunt for greatest pacer ever

Who is the greatest pacer time?

Long a discussion point tossed around in bars and pool rooms, the toughest of all trots questions is getting the social media treatment courtesy of Queensland form guru Darren Clayton, with Twitter voters already reducing an all-star 32 to an elite eight.

The ‘People’s Choice’ has entered quarter-finals mode, where Blacks A Fake will shape off against Pure Steel, Gammalite will tough it out against Hondo Grattan, Im Themightyquinn will take on Our Sir Vancelot and Lazarus will go toe-to-toe with Popular Alm.

To get to this point there have already been two rounds of classic battles, including Pure Steel (56.1% of the vote) pipping Preux Chevalier (43.9%), Gammalite (51.3 per cent) getting up by a short half-head over Village Kid (48.7%) and Popular Alm (53.1%) nosing out Christian Cullen (46.9%).

Voting continues tomorrow morning with the aforementioned quarter finals.
