Finding some Metro Magic with the TrotsLife blackbook

It was a night full of somewhat unexpected results, however, Jason Bonnington and Nikkita Ross were able to find four horses to enter the Blackbook as part of the Monday Metrospective on SEN Track’s Trots Life.

See below who caught the eye and click below to listen in to the Monday Metrospective:

HERE ARE THIS WEEK’S BLACKBOOK ADDITIONS:

R1 N10 MAGIC MIKE:

NR: Has really found some form in recent runs and there was a lot to like about his effort on Saturday night. Did the work, and only the one horse was able to get past him. If he can continue his consistent runs, it wouldn’t surprise to see him break through for another win shortly.

R3 N7 NERANO:

JB:  Ellen Bartley has an exceptionally nice horse here and his first-up effort was superb. In a race totally bereft of tempo he sat last, peeled widest and still, somehow, made more than 10 metres on the winner in a 55.8-sec final half.

NR: First up and had everything against him given the outrageously comfortable early tempo. In a night where quick final quarters were not the theme, this speedy son of Tintin in America was terrific and showed all the signs that he will be in for a big preparation.

R4 N7 REACTOR NOW:

JB: This big boy is enjoying his off-speed roles of late and was covering the ground like the old Reactor Now in the final 100m here. He still needs the right race but is seemingly getting back on track.

R9 N7 ZAREM:

JB: Lovable sit-sprinter that is legitimately crying out to win based on all his early-prep efforts this time in. It shouldn’t be forgotten he can also fly the arm if he draws to do so in coming weeks.

NR: No one missed this unlucky run in the final event on Saturday night. He is very quick and if he is in striking distance, wherever he lines up next, they will know he is in the race.
