French to line-up in Australasian Young Drivers’ Championships

Tayla French will represent Victoria at next month’s Australasian Young Drivers’ Championships.

French has been picked to compete in the series, which runs in her home state during Inter Dominion grand final week.

The championships begin on December 6, with the last of nine heats at Melton on December 10.

New Zealand’s Sarah O’Reilly prevailed in the last Australasian Young Drivers’ Championships back in 2019 and will return as the defending title holder this year. The other competitors include fellow Kiwis Sam Thornley and Crystal Hacket, Cam Hart (NSW), Samantha Pascoe (SA), Emily Suvaljko (WA), Jordan Chibnall (Tasmania) and Brendan Barnes (QLD).

25-year-old French has won 206 races since commencing her driving career in season 2017-18, with the highlight being Parisian Artiste’s success in the Group 1 Vicbred 3YO Trotting Colts and Geldings Final last year.
