Bronte Nieuwenburg has outlined her selections and suggested game plan for tonight’s eight-race card at Bendigo. This full night of trotting honours Victorian legends Graeme and Gavin Lang.
R1 – 5.59pm – Lang Family Dynasty Trot – 1650m
2 – Nakedtruth
5 – Mitchell Wrap
10 – Picket Wire
1 – Antonov
The flashy chestnut Nakedtruth has only missed a place once in his last eight starts, that one miss was over the 2240 metre trip. He performs better over the short trip so he’s in a suitable race here over 1650 metre trip. He also loves being in front where he’s likely to land here. His record at Bendigo is great and it looks like his race to lose.
BACK: 2 Nakedtruth – 3 units (win)
R2 – 6.35pm – Stematic 3yo Maiden Trot – 2150m
9 – Majestic Monarch
1 – Getoutofmydreams
7 – Wallis
3 – Peggy Vale
Majestic Monarch is one of those runners where it’s hard to believe he is still a maiden. He has been racing talented horses throughout his career that would dominate this field such as Ajay Volstead, Centurian Dream, Pinnie, Nordic Reign, Mister Blindside, Maximus Meridius and Mega Spur. Barrier nine gives him time and space to settle early and this looks like a perfect race for him.
BACK: 9 Majestic Monarch – 3 units (win)
R3 – 7.00pm – True Roman 4yo & Older Maiden Trot – 2150m
7 – Midnite Muscle
3 – Ox Knox
2 – Velvetnlace
4 – Yoshida
R4 – 7.33pm – Scotch Notch 3yo Trotting Mile – 1650m
7 – Centurion Dream
5 – Im Lady Rhonda
4 – Third Eye
6 – Rubys Dream
R5 – 8.00pm – Sumthingaboutmaori Trot – 2150m
9 – Tictok
1 – Dossier
3 – The Chook
7 – Frankythefrenchman
Tictok looks like one of the best horses in this race when she puts it all together. She finally got her manners right last start when finishing third at Bendigo. When she trots, she’s talented. Hopefully she has her confidence back after last start and can string together another good run. Her poor manners will stop her from being super short in the market.
BACK: 9 Tictok – 2 units (win)
R6 – 8.33pm – Wagon Apollo 3yo Trotting Mile – 1650m
7 – Remus Phoenix
6 – Thunda Struck
3 – Imperial Command
1 – Billy Zippin
Remus Phoenix can get quite fired up, but when he’s on song he’s one of the best three-year-old trotters in Victoria. This talented son of Volstead has an ideal barrier to stay out of the way and settle early here. He’s back in easier grade after running through the Breeders Crown and Derby recently, so it looks his race to lose.
BACK: 7 Remus Phoenix – 2 units (win)
R7 – 9.05pm – Graeme Lang Aldebaran Park 2yo Trotting Mile – 1650m
5 – Gatesys Gem
2 – Prohibited Grace
6 – Tracy The Jet
4 – Iron Women
R8 – 9.35pm – Save Our Pennys Trot – 1650m
7 – Jessicas Story
6 – Against The Bridle
3 – Majestic Ga Ga
8 – Frosty Girl

** A betting unit is typically a percentage of the total bankroll or the amount of money you are willing to risk on a particular bet – for example 1 unit is 10% of your bankroll, therefore with a $100 bankroll 1 unit equals $10.
