GOODFORM – Bronte’s game plan for Friday at Geelong

Bronte Nieuwenburg has outlined her tips and selections for tonight’s nine-race card at Geelong.

R1 – 5.59pm – Apco We’ve Got You Pace – 2100m

12 – Too The Max

5 – Huxham Chubb

9 – Our Kinky Boots

3 – Aveiro

R2 – 6.32pm – Lara Quality Meats Pace – 1609m

1 – Test Of Fire

4 – The Mountain

6 – Sassyola

11 – Carramar Olam

R3 – 7.00pm – Book Now Beckley Night 12/9 Pace – 1609m

8 – Midnight Desire

7 – Yella

3 – Gozo Major

9 – Pickle It

R4 – 7.30pm – Prestige Modular Buildings Maiden Trot – 1609m

4 – Happy Escape

6 – Buckles For Berry

11 – Desert Royale

12 – Joey Bee

Happy Escape, a son of Volstead, was strong last start at Ararat when finishing second behind Boot Legging. His sectional times from that run were solid and he looks to be improving. He probably doesn’t have the gate speed to lead here, but he does look ready to win.

BACK: 4 Happy Escape – 2 units (win)

R5 – 8.02pm – Hoyts Food Pace – 1609m

13 – Alifetimeforliving

3 – Foresight

5 – Mister Fonzi

6 – Amphijet

Alifetimeforliving was brilliant first-up last start, flashing from last to score impressively. She’s a talented filly who has competed against the best of her age group throughout her career and looks to be improving with age. The barrier makes it tough, but her talent is undeniable.

BACK: 13 Alifetimeforliving – 3 units (win)

R6 – 8.36pm – Evolution Lodge Trot – 2100m

7 – Floating Mountain

8 – Wewillseehowwego

5 – Fremarks Peggy

3 – Low Lie The Fields

R7 – 9.11pm – RSN Roofing Pace – 1609m

7 – Tappy

6 – Animado

8 – Olivia Rose

10 – Marlo Mareau

Tappy is a two-year-old taking on older horses here, so it won’t be easy. He was narrowly beaten into second behind Cyclone Jenni in a Melton trial recently, and that filly franked the form by winning the Youthful Stakes on the weekend. James has a high opinion of Tappy, noting he still had his plugs in and was travelling strongly in that trial. It’s a tough draw, but he looks a quality horse.

BACK: 7 Tappy – 3 units (win)

R8 – 9.46pm – Team Zav Sept 6 Eureka Slot Holder Maiden Pace – 1609m

4 – Shadowlandz

1 – Im The Wild One

9 – Riddlemethis

2 – Hey Gigi

R9 – 10.14pm – Haras Des Trotteurs Trot – 1609m

6 – Majestic Tooth

7 – Preferred Love

4 – Emmwallen

1 – Scar

I like following a mare when she’s racing well and full of confidence. Majestic Tooth has placed at her last five starts. Her usual racing pattern is to be saved for one run and then storm home, and she’s got a great sprint to her. This looks like a fairly even field, and I’d prefer to stick with the value of Majestic Tooth.

BACK: 6 Majestic Tooth – 2 units (win)

QUADDIE (Races 5 – 8)

R5 – 3, 13

R6 – 3, 5, 7, 8

R7 – 6, 7, 8

R8 – 1, 2, 4, 9

** A betting unit is typically a percentage of the total bankroll or the amount of money you are willing to risk on a particular bet – for example 1 unit is 10% of your bankroll, therefore with a $100 bankroll 1 unit equals $10.
