Bronte Nieuwenburg has outlined her selections and suggested game plan for Saturday's meeting at Melton.

R1 – 5.32pm – Hygain Free For All – 2240m

11 – Triple Eight

10 – Tango Tara

9 – Curly James

7 – Rocknroll Hammer

Triple Eight came home in fast sectionals last start in the Geelong Rocket, chasing down Catch A Wave. On the clock, he has the best last 400-metre sprint in this race. If there’s genuine speed on, with the class runners drawn wide and out the back, the race could set up perfectly for Triple Eight to swoop home late.

BACK: 11 Triple Eight - 1 unit (win) / 2 units (place)

R2 – 6.02pm – Hyland Racing Colours Pace – 2240m

7 – Keayang Taco

11 – Edwarde Grange

4 – Kwick Sand

R3 – 6.34pm – Dynamic Print Group Pace – 1720m

8 – My Uncle Stan

10 – Lincoln River

6 – Pesci

9 – Sweetpassion

R4 – 7.04pm – Beraldo Coffee Pace – 2240m

4 – Triple Rock Saint

6 – Odin

7 – Chasing Rex

9 – Thestatesman

R5 – 7.35pm – Aldebaran Park Trot – 2240m

2 – Maoris Mac

10 – Aldebaran Acrux

8 – Pinnie

1 – Destrier

R6 – 8.05pm – National Guardian Solutions Pace – 1720m

2 – First Dance

1 – Draw A Dream

8 – Rakero Slammer

4 – Tiger Band Wagon

Draw A Dream is the class runner in this event, but she has had issues scoring up in the past. I'm not overly confident she'll be able to hold the front from barrier one. First Dance continues to improve with each preparation, and if she can find the fence ahead of Draw A Dream, I believe she can beat her home late.

BACK: 2 First Dance – 2 units (win)

R7 – 8.35pm – Lionheart Security Pace – 2240m

5 – Jilliby Illuminate

2 – Our Saydie Kay

3 – All Blazing Guns

7 – Captain Maastricht

Jilliby Illuminate has only had ten starts, but she looks like the type to rise to the top of the mares' ranks in Victoria. Connections are confident heading into this race first-up, and so am I.

BACK: 5 Jilliby Illuminate – 3 units (win)

R8 – 9.07pm – Encompassing Trot – 1720m

6 – Keayang Lavita

3 – Boutika

8 – Dichotomy

5 – Nakedtruth

Keayang Lavita was absolutely dominant last start when she found the front and raced away to win. I'm not confident she'll find the front as easily here, but based on her pure dominance last time, she's definitely the one to beat.

BACK: 6 Keayang Lavita – 2 units (win)

R9 – 9.38pm – Haras Des Trotteurs 2yo Trot – 1720m

3 – Truscotts Elegance

5 – Kyvalley Ray

2 – Elle Perfecto

7 – Iconic Image

** A betting unit is typically a percentage of the total bankroll or the amount of money you are willing to risk on a particular bet – for example 1 unit is 10% of your bankroll, therefore with a $100 bankroll 1 unit equals $10.
