MAJOR JODI (2) at $6/$1.95 looks a beautiful play 1x3 providing he starts from pole with the scratching of the emergency. I’m taking on the favourite in FOURBIGMEN (10), with TORRID SAINT (7), GLENAVRIL KING (4) and even ARGGGHHH (5) all better plays at bigger odds for mine.

NOTA REPLICA (4) is admittedly a bit of a flyer here as my on-top selection, but at $23+ I’m committed to suggesting an each-way play. I’m tipping he’ll go forward and get cover in the running line, handy to the speed, and he can make his own luck more than he’s been able to at his last couple. I’ve got the favourite ARDEN ROANOKE (12) in for second and he is the obvious danger.

Confidence:
KEAYANG LIVANA (4) has opened favourite and been heavily backed into odds-on. My map has PEREGRINE PHOENIX (5) leading initially and handing up quickly to SLEEPEE (6). If my map prevails and we’re on SLEEPEE (6) each-way at $6, then it’s Christmas. But if KEAYANG LIVANA (4) leads and SLEEPEE (6) is working OT then that’s a different ball game.

The top picks are so far clear of the others here it’s a golden opportunity to play some exotics. ALWAYS READY (1) has come up favourite at $2 whilst my top pick MAJESTUOSO (2) is $2.4 in from $2.9. BRANDLO PRINCE (8) and ENHANCE YOUR CALM ($7.5) are the others to put in for trifectas.

Confidence:
The money just keeps piling in for BETTOR BE THE BOMB (8), who is drawn to trail likely race leader EUREKA (1). I have tipped SOMEWHERE SECRET (9) on top, but we’re relying on him doing a bit extra work than those horses on the peg line. He is capable of that, hence why I’ve tipped him, but it’s not a race I’m confident enough about to suggest anything bold.

My top pick WOLF STRIDE (6) has been heavily tried ($5 into $3.6). His last run was electric, and his form has been strong right through the last couple of months. CODE BLACK (9) is my second pick and is also firming in the market ($4.2 into $3.3). I’m going to play four ways in the quad (6,7,8 & 9), so I’m risking SIRLETIC (2), who is my likely leader.

Boy oh boy we’ve missed top fluc for top pick JAMIESON STEELE (2) here! $15 into $5.5. He may drift out a bit though perhaps given the significance of the early move. I’ve tipped him on top, so he’s still a play at $5.5 but let’s hope we can hold out until late and perhaps get closer to $7 for an each-way play. The favourite here, WHEREYABINBOPPIN (10) should be respected, but he’s only my fourth pick and I prefer ALWAYS FAST (8) and SAHARA TIGER (9) both at better prices then him here.

Interesting betting affair this in that DANCE CRAZE (8) opened $1.8 and has been snapped into $1.6 despite drawing the back row, while WOBELEE (9), who has had to give away head starts to the good mares of late now meets one of his fast-class adversaries on a more level playing field, and WOBELEE (9) is $2.5 out to $3.6! I have tipped WOBELEE (9) for the minor upset and if you are getting a price like $3.6 it is worth a win play. I also want to play some tricks.

KYVALLEY CHIEF (11) is an exciting proposition moving forward and my top pick here, but at $2.15 I’m not sure I want to get too involved. WHIZZBANG DAN (6) is my second pick and is $14 but has drifted significantly early. If WHIZZBANG DAN (6) gets out to a silly price, then that becomes the play. Good luck!
