Goodform Gameplan: Melton Sat 17th October

I was with PIRATE BAY (5) in the first but this is a more than tricky race as the first at Melton can be so I’m happy to let it unfold and see what comes from the race.

SUGGESTED BET: Nothing Significant.

IM ANOTHERMASTERPIECE (10) has some things against him tonight but I think he was better than the margin may suggest last week and while it’s entirely possible to dig into trifectas, I’m not certain how the two drawn inside will attack the start so we’re better off to just play the top pick at overs.

SUGGESTED BET: $30 Win on Im Anothermasterpiece (10) at $2.60 or better.

ALWAYS READY (11) is the established star from the tough draw while SWISS MISS (4) is the untapped talent with seemingly some advantage at the start, I still lean towards the former but this is less than clear prospect in terms of zeroing in on something so we’ll stay involved through the Early Quaddie.

SUGGESTED BET: Nothing Significant.

MAJESTOUSO (8) still rates incredibly highly even from the draw after his recent defeat but I just thought ROBBIE ROYALE (3) finds the right circumstances to punctuate his recent form. He is by no means stunning overs but we will try to capitalize through the Early Quaddie.

SUGGESTED BET: Nothing Significant.

OUT TO PLAY (8) could well get the gun run through here but even if things go a touch awry, he is well over the odds based on his win last week. That’s not to say he’s a moral, but he’s certainly worth a bet if the price holds up.

SUGGESTED BET: $35 Win on Out To Play (8) at $2.60 or better.

PINK GALAHS (5) is fresh off an open-aged Group 1 win and with the kind alley she’ll likely speed to the front soon after the start. The only horse I identified as undervalued by the market was SULTAN SASS (11) who might be a bit better than punters realise. For that reason she’s a straight out place play here.

SUGGESTED BET: $20 Place on Sultan Sass (11) at $3.50 or better.

AMELIA ROSE (4) looks really well placed and if she works on to the lead as expected, they’ll have a lot of trouble catching her over the sprint trip. There is class everywhere here particularly off the second row but at the current price the top pick is backable.

SUGGESTED BET: $25 Win on Amelia Rose (4) at $2.20 or better.

BETTOR BE SORRY (8) has an awkward alley but he’s impossible to be against in his current form. The polemarker is the obvious threat but FOURBIGMEN (3) comes into play if he leads and MAJOR ASSASSIN (4) might be the value if he does spear across to the pegs. Given the early machinations it's hard to get heavily involved here other than through Quaddies.

SUGGESTED BET: Nothing Significant.

A lot will depend on how the start unfolds here but even if things don’t go right with UTOPIA (5) I think he’s clearly the horse to beat, he’s currently over the odds so provided the 6/4 is still available, he’s worth a bet.

SUGGESTED BET: $30 Win on Utopia (5) at $2.20 or better.

I’m struggling to work through this in my own mind given it was impossible to tip against EVAS IMAGE (2), I do however think KYVALLEYHONEYBUNNY (10) has more talent than the market gives her credit for so it’s probably worth taking a punt on her at the price differential.

SUGGESTED BET: $15 Each Way on Kyvalleyhoneybunny (10) at $7 or better.

MANTHADEE (9) was most unlucky and hit the line well when clear last time and the form out of her run in the Jane Ellen should line-up well here. For that reason, in what is an even race, she appears the early overs.

SUGGESTED BET: $20 Each Way on Manthadee (9) at $7 or better.
