Goodform Gameplan: Melton Sat 30th January

Monitoring late market moves will be crucial in the first but the little push for HONOLUA BAY (9) this morning has been encouraging as he’d deadest spank these at his best. If he doesn’t drift markedly from the current $1.90 quote you can back him straight out or play exotics. I am taking the latter option. 

SUGGESTED BETS: 

Flexi Trifecta: 9/ 2,5,11/ 2,5,11: $21 gets 350% 

Flexi Trifecta: 9/ 2,5,11/ 3,7,8: $9 gets 100%

If STRUVE (3) gets the cheap lead I expect he will tonight and doesn’t win I think he and I are done. Form a punting perspective the big value may come by playing crazy wide for third in tricks as pretty much any of the others can occupy that role if the breaks go their way in transit.

Flexi Trifecta: 3/ 4,7/ 1,2,4,5,7,8,9: $30 gets 250%

MAX DELIGHT (6) should kill his rivals here but I don’t know what to make of the rest and as a result I’m staying out. The market says UNCLE JORD (2) is a clear second pick and he probably is but if you’re in the mood to oppose him running second after a disappointing last start effort that might be the best play here for those getting involved.

Following markets and pre-race interviews will be crucial in this 4^th heat of the Mercury80 series but if Andy Gath expresses confidence about DIAMONDS N CASH (5) he seems outrageous overs at $2.90. On class he would kill these so he’s worth an interest investment at least. 

SUGGESTED BET: 

$20 Win on DIAMONDS N CASH (5) at $2.20 or better (double bet if pre-race intel is strong)  

The scratching of Watch List is a big win for MONGIANA (3) so he’s probably entitled to start odds on now but I’d prefer to play him one-out in my major Quad than back him one-out at that quaote so we’re staying out here.

This reads like the kind of race you’d really love to attack as it’s so open and competitive but the only genuine ‘over’ is found via BETTOR BE THE BOMB (11). He has a tough draw but is racing as well as anything here and simply should not be at a double figure quote. 

SUGGESTED BET: 

$15 Each Way on BETTOR BE THE BOMB (11) at $8.50 or better

On face value this looks a very easy race to read but not an easy race to profit from. If her leads as expected the $1.50 on offer about MAJESTIC MAN (5) probably represents value but it’s more an educational race than a punting extravaganza so one simple trick for love of the game looks most appropriate.

Flexi Trifecta: 5/ 1,10/ 2,7,10 ($30 gets 750%)

I won’t hear of PATSBEACHSTORM (1) being rolled in this newly inaugurated Group 1 event so backing him straight out at $1.50 or through multis is 100% in play. That being said I don’t love the race from an exotic perspective. If anything, I would consider laying ACT NOW (10) the place as he looks to have an enormous task ahead from where he’s drawn over 1720m.
