These small fields often encourage single-file racing and few would fit more neatly into that category with HULI NIEN (1) likely to lead, REPEAT AFTER ME (2) dropping straight in behind and life looking tough for everybody else. That being said BAD BILLY (7) is flying and may be the one runner who can upset the natural order.

This race has lost some much needed structure with Miss McGonagall moving to the feature event. I still like DIVINE DIVA (4) but where she ends up is a little less obvious so we’ll have a crack without breaking the budget.

BREVITY (11) is my tip here just clear of CEE CEE IN AMERICA (2) but there’s not a lot I like about this event so I won’t be getting involved.

We don’t see as many races as we used to pre-NR where skinny, aggressive exotics appear as appealing as they do here. Simply put, CATCH A MOMENT (2) will lead and win while SANTA CASA BEACH (1) will trail and finish second or third at very worst. What you do to fill the other podium position is largely up to you.

With so many key scratchings this race does look a benefit for BETTOR BE SORRY (4) now. Usually having such a clear likely winner would set us up for some sweet exotic options but sadly that isn’t the case here. Even acknowledging that fact I am going to have two Trick hoping that A FAIR OL DANCE (1) holds up behind the leader. My nightmare result is DIAMONDS N CASH (3) finishing second as I think he’s going a bit better than his recent record may indicate.

I’ve banged on about this all week but the fact we run NO significant races for mares over a trip makes it almost to impossible to assess the QOTP these days. I have a bizarre inkling that NO WIN NO FEED (6) may have a big lash at the start and potentially find the pegs. That’s a speculative theory however so we won’t be breaking the bank.

We’ve missed Top Fluc which is disappointing but I have a big opinion of ARDEN VOYAGER (2). The fat of the matter is he looks near certain to lead and his aggressive racing style means you almost can’t place pressure on him. I know this is his toughest assignment but Tabcorp Park is racing so fast these day I think he can break 1:52 in front if required and if he does whatever beats him wins.

$20 Win Arden Voyager (2) at $4 or better 

The way the prices have panned out in tonight’s Graduate we can do something quite foreign to many punters and back three different runners Each Way. Either that or you can lay PERFECT STRIDE (10). He can win but shouldn’t be so short in such a good race from such a bad draw.
