Bearhunta is having his second start here after winning most impressively on debut at Shepparton where he raced tough and ran fast time over the last half. Feel his main danger is Calexico who is fresh up, so I like that we have the fitness edge also.

I’m sticking my neck out in tipping Paris Kay here at value, accounting for a few unknown variables. No doubting my next three picks behind her have ability, but they can do things wrong in their races. Paris Kay was dragged back behind a tiring runner last start, was up in grade in her Melton runs and was a good winner five back. She has good manners which will carry her a long way.

Thinkfast Runfast has been in superb form lately and running fast times to boot. He has great early gate speed and looks the leader here without a great deal of pressure. You get a top driver aboard in Chris Alford, so there’s a lot of boxes ticked. He’s short, but he’s an anchor in multis and a standout in the quaddie.

Tango Tara looks very well graded here as a top quality FFA class horse taking on lower rated pacers. The short trip is in his favour, although I’m not certain of the tactics on pressing forward or coming with one run. For that reason, I’m scaling back my units, but I think he’s the best horse.
