Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) today released its third round of 2018 TAB Inter Dominion rankings.
One more round of rankings will be unveiled on Wednesday November 21 before second acceptances are declared on Friday November 23.
The Pacing Inter Dominion Championship will consist of 36 horses, with three rounds of three qualifying heats, while the Trotting Inter Dominion Championship will consist of 24 horses, with three rounds of two qualifying heats.
Spankem, Menin Gate, Joes Star Of Mia, Pats Delight, Aztec Bromac and Sams The Master are all within the top 36 positions after today’s rankings in the pacing division courtesy of recent form.
Decron Cranbourne Gold Cup winner San Carlo has jumped to number six on the pacing ladder, with Kiwi Eamon Maguire up seven spots to number seven after his Group 2 Ashburton Flying Stakes win.
Other significant pacing movers include West Australian Vampiro, who jumped 14 spots to 17 following his $50k Mount Eden Sprint win at Gloucester Park, Audi Hare, who is up to number 18 after a recent metropolitan win and a fifth place finish in the Cranbourne Cup, Spankem (pictured above), who climbed 35 spots to 22 after his Group 2 Kaikoura Cup win, and Menin Gate, whose 3SH Swan Hill Cup win moved him up 50 spots to 23.
Speeding Spur remains at number one in the trotting rankings after a Group 3 Kaikoura win on Monday, while Tornado Valley also strengthened his position at number two following Saturday night’s comfortable Group 3 Aldebaran Park Chris Howe Trotters Free-for-All win.
Our Dreamlover is up 17 spots to 22 after finishing second in the Swan Hill Trotters Cup behind King Denny, who has climbed 43 spots to number 25, while Kowhai Monarch has moved to number 24, up 45 spots,
Previously top-ranked pacer Chicago Bull is one of 33 pacers officially withdrawn from the series with the WA star succumbing to injury, leaving 71 pacers still vying for a position at ID18. Fifty-six trotters remain from an initial nomination list of 88.
