Industry news: Update for participants

Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) reminds participants of the importance of vigilance during the COVID-19 pandemic.

It is being reported three cases of COVID-19 have emerged in Shepparton.

The Victorian Government has published several “high risk locations” in Shepparton. They are:

  • Central Tyre Service, Welshford St (30 September to 13 October)
  • Bunnings Warehouse, Midland Highway (2 October)
  • McDonalds Shepparton North, 175 Midland Highway (3 October)
  • Thai Orchard Restaurant, Nixon St (7 October, 9.30am-10.30am)
  • Bombshell Hairdressing, Fryers St (7 October, 9.30am-10.30am)
  • Mooroopna Golf Club Members Bar (11 October)
  • Shepparton Market Place Medical Centre, Midland Highway (8 October)
  • Lemon Tree Café, Fryers St

If you have visited one of these sites, even if you have no symptoms of COVID-19, you must get tested and quarantine for 14 days.

If you or a family member is displaying any symptoms of COVID-19 at all, you should get tested immediately and do not attend races until that test result comes back negative.

HRV advises participants that if you must travel into affected areas for essential work purposes please:

  • Ensure your vehicle has sufficient fuel to avoid unnecessary stops;
  • Bring food with you to avoid unnecessary stops;
  • Ensure you are always carrying your HRV licence card and permit;

Full COVID-19 HRV protocols can be viewed here.
