Two of Victoria’s most successful standardbred breeders - Bruce Edward and Yabby Dam Farms’ Pat Driscoll – have a strong hand in the SENTrack Inter Dominion finals.

Edward (pictured above), the dual Victorian Breeder of the Year, has three starters in the $500,000 pacers’ final in Act Now, Narutac Prince and Beyond Delight, while Driscoll will be represented by a trio of runners in the $250,000 trotting final – Just Believe, Always Ready and Parisian Artiste.

Furthermore, Driscoll (pictured below), the 2020 Victorian Breeder of the Year, stands the sire of three of the trotting finalists in Queen Elida, Parisian Artiste (both by Love You) and Just Believe (by Orlando Vici) at his Haras Des Trotteurs’ property near Ballarat.

Majestic Son, the leading trotting sire on both sides of the Tasman and the sire of the 2019 Inter Dom victor Winterfell, has an unprecedented four runners in the trotting final in Majestuoso, Ofortuna, Majestic Harry and Swiss Miss.

The NZ-based Monarchy figures as the damsire of three finalists – Majestuoso, Queen Elida and Majestic Harry.

Six of the trotting final contestants were bred in Victoria, five in New Zealand and one in NSW.

Queen Elida, Nephew Of Sonoko and Ofortuna are the first foals of their dams, Majestuoso, Majestic Harry, Always Ready and Parisian Artiste are the second, Sleepee is a third foal, Hatchback and Just Believe are the fifth, Swiss Miss the seventh and Mufasa Metro the ninth.

In the pacing section, champion sires Bettor’s Delight and Somebeachsomewhere are the only stallions with multiple representation. Bettor’s Delight, who has left a record four Inter Dom champions, has two starters in Beyond Delight and Zeuss Bromac, while Somebeachsomewhere is represented by the two most highly-fancied runners, Act Now and Honolua Bay.

Bettor’s Delight is also the maternal sire of Mach Dan and the grandsire of Better Eclipse.

Art Major figures as the sire of Narutac Prince and the damsire of Spirit Of St Louis, Mach Three is the sire of Mach Dan and the damsire of Zeuss Bromac and Christian Cullen has two broodmare credits in Beyond Delight and Bundoran.

I Cast No Shadow and Zeuss Bromac, who were bred by Bromac Lodge, are among the five pacers foaled in NZ to contest the final.

There are six Victorian-bred finalists and a solitary Queenslander – Expensive Ego – in the elite 12-horse field.
