Due to water damage at the Mildura Harness Racing Club, Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) has transferred the scheduled November 1 race meeting to Swan Hill.

While the Mildura track is in good order and ready to race on, buildings essential to stage a race meeting at the venue require urgent remedial work following water damage.

HRV has extended an offer to assist the Mildura club and local council to expedite necessary repair work in a bid to have the facility back in action as soon as possible.

Mildura holds an integral place in the state’s harness racing ecosystem, attracting more starters per race meeting than any other harness racing venue in Victoria.

The region also has a strong contingent of locally based harness racing trainers and drivers, who predominately race at Mildura and contribute significantly to the Sunraysia economy.

HRV has agreed to provide trainers with a $50 fuel voucher per horse for their participation at this transferred meeting in a bid to continue to support to local participants.

As the flood situation in Victoria is ongoing, HRV will continue to monitor and make necessary changes to the schedule as required.

Participants are encouraged to stay across the HRV floods information page and all SMS communications from HRV.
