A dashing drive by Alex Ashwood and exhilarating performance from Thesunandthemoon meant one big punter had a very pleasant watch last Wednesday.
The TAB took a $10,000 bet at $1.75 on Ashwood’s recent stable acquisition to win the Tasco Petroleum Pace at Mildura and the three-year-old filly made light work of her rivals to score by more than 26m on the line.
Ashwood sat back through the early stages of the event, but put the foot to the floor approaching the bell and raced well clear in the final lap to land the punter a $17,500 collect.
