Proof in the pudding as Dan and Rob unscramble Vic Cup change

Another glorious cat has been thrown among the enigmatic pigeons, with Bulletproof Boy’s inclusion in the Pryde’s EasiFeed Victoria Cup testing caller Dan Mielicki and analyst Rob Auber.

The pair fired up the Saturday Night Harness Racing Preview Show to break down Victoria Cup Night, including the $300,000 Grand Circuit feature that takes centre stage at 9.08pm.

Mielicki said Honolua Bay’s scratching and Bulletproof Boy’s inclusion had only further muddled an already fascinating equation.

“It makes us think a hell of a lot more,” Mielicki told the RSN 927 podcast. “If there weren’t dozens and dozens of different scenarios as far as speed maps were concerned, we’ve got to consider a few more now.”

But Auber was unperturbed.

“I don’t think he will get across Better Eclipse myself,” Auber said of Bulletproof Boy, who will start from gate two. “I thought Catch A Wave will probably be the leader of the race myself.”

Auber had Queensland superstar Leap To Fame on top, believing he’s “the best horse in Australia”, while Mielicki expects Rock N Roll Doo to defend his title.
