Successful owner Kevin Seymour has bookmarked the Victoria Cup as a definite target for boom pacer Leap To Fame.
The winner of close to $3million will have one final assignment in Queensland before Seymour and trainer-driver Grant Dixon map out a plan for the multiple Group 1 winner.
“We are waiting for the Blacks A Fake on Saturday night to be run. After that, Grant and I will work out a plan,” Seymour said.
The Queensland owner is hoping to make the Grand Circuit classic on October 12, before heading across the Tasman.
“We are looking to hit both the Victoria Cup and the New Zealand Cup,” Seymour told thetrots.com.au.
“The Victoria Cup is certainly on the radar.”
Seymour is no stranger to taking out the Victoria Cup as an owner, winning the 2010 edition of the great race with Mr Feelgood.
“I think it is important for Leap To Fame to achieve another Grand Circuit race in the Vic Cup, and to say that one of his greatest achievements was to win the Victoria Cup and the Hunter Cup,” he said.
The brightest star in harness racing, Leap To Fame made Victoria a happy hunting ground earlier in the year when he claimed the A.G. Hunter Cup and Cranbourne Cup during an ultra-successful fortnight through February.
“The Hunter Cup is pretty special for us and it is regarded as one of the races you really want to win,” he said. “It is the biggest and best race in Victoria.
“With the Cranbourne Cup, I have always had a policy of taking the horse to the country to give the country people a chance of seeing him race as well.
“This horse is a horse for the people. He really isn’t our horse, he is a community horse and people love him.”
Leap To Fame has won 40 races from 51 starts with an incredible 78.4 per cent winning record.
