The commanding win of four-year-old squaregaiter The Knockabout in the Vicbred Voucher race at Stawell recently provided a timely boost for the popular south-western Victorian-based O’Connor family.

Woorinen’s David Wills returned to the winner’s list as a trainer after a long time off the scene when eight-year-old Somebeachsomewhere-Lombo Sleek Streak gelding Santa Casa Beach snared the 1700m Oringi Protection Wear Pace at Horsham on Monday.

Three-year-old gelding Golden Tribe took on the older horses in the Sharps Bakery Pace on Saturday night. He had to overcome the tricky barrier of 12. He was last with a lap to run but looped the field very impressively to win.
