If ALICE KAY (1) holds the top early then BAO NIEN (8) is going to get a lovely trip in behind and even if he lands three poles, he will be sprinting hard late with any pressure on through the middle stages so while the market has identified the other two clear hopes, BAO NIEN (8) is massive overs at double figures.
SUGGESTED BET: $15 Win x $35 Place on Bao Nien (8) at $7 or better.
Race 2
Confidence:
SUPREME DOMINATOR (4) is a deserved odds-on favourite here and one out option in Early Quaddies and while I thought CRAFTY OLD FOX (1) was capable of running a drum (and he has come up overs) it’s not a race I’m super keen to get involved in.

Race 3
Confidence:
CASINO BARRY (4) and SUNDANCER RAINBOW (8) have come up the two market elects at similar prices to how I saw them so there’s not necessarily heaps of juice in the race, I will say however I favour the former strongly for Early Quaddies.
SUGGESTED BET: Casino Barry (4) one out in Early Quaddies.

Confidence:
BANKROLL (7) is the obvious here and the market has latched right on. I did think IAN RAYMOND (6) was the most likely to run second so it’s a race where we can craft trifectas.

Confidence:
The scratching of DONT HOLD BACK (6) has thrown this race into disarray somewhat so I’m less the confident about the result with almost every horse having some genuine hope. I’ll be playing wide in Quaddies unless one of the top few picks drifts out to a silly price late.

As well as IMPERIAL WHIZ (9) is going, I thought with the front row draw, HATCHBACK (6) would be a touch shorter. CHIEF RUNNINGCLOUD (8) and AUNTIE POPPY (10) both have to go into trifectas but I’m happy to have something on the top pick at better than even money.
SUGGESTED BET: $30 Win on Hatchback (6) at $2 or better.
Race 7
Confidence:
I was hoping JUSTICE SERVED (2) would come up a slightly better price but this still shapes a good betting race with DELIGHTFUL JAZZ (8) and WILL I ROCKNROLL (6) the most likely placegetters.

I Thought MAJESTICAL BELLE (7) could lead and be hard to run down here but there are a number of early scenarios which may play out so at $2.70 it’s not an enticing price. GATESYS GIFT (9) might be the value at near double figures but I’m happy to hope we are still riding Quaddies.

I’m keen to play the last three legs one out but hopefully we can jag some value through the first leg.
