He’s one of the most exciting two-year-old pacers in the land and Harness Racing Victoria form analyst Craig Rail was thrilled with Petracca’s return trial at Tabcorp Park Melton.
The Emma Stewart-trained youngster produced a “massive performance” to make up an “enormous amount of ground in a slick final half of 57.12” and run third on Monday.
He was marked as one of Rail’s four Blackbookers from the trials this week, with the updated file located at the bottom of the page.
Trial 1: - The outstanding pacer LOCHINVAR ART returned from his latest fifth in the Hunter Cup with a solid trial victory. He settled down last of the six runners, gained a one out and one back trail at the 900m and commenced his winning run at the 300m. NEW YORKER continued his outstanding trial form by finishing in second position. He was three back on the pegs early, moved up without cover at the bell and went down fighting. He makes his Victorian debut at the Kyabram @ Shepparton meeting on Sunday and will prove extremely hard to beat. HIRANYA NZ settled fifth on the inside, angled into the running lane at the 800m (1-2) and finished off well for a distant third.
