Craig Rail's Trial File Blackbook has swelled to 22 with five additions, three of which will step out in the coming days and try and transform that eye-catching trial form into race-day wins.

Captain Bellasario "was very impressive" at Cranbourne and Notnegotiable looks a "strong winning chance" after wowing in the last trial at Melton, with both heading to Maryborough to race on Monday.

Lost Four Words could also produce a quick return for Trial File followers, with the new Blackbook addition to step out on Tuesday at Bendigo.

SHEPPARTON 09/09/21

Trial 1: - LOVE GUN began quickly and was on the outside of the leader momentarily prior to rolling to the top. He enjoyed a good run in the leading role and ambled down to the line to win impressively. He unfortunately galloped at the start at Yarra Valley on Monday then struck a wheel when looking for a clear run in the home straight so he had no luck whatsoever first up. SHEZA PLEASURE produced a good performance to fill second spot. She galloped away, lost 30m and moved up without cover from the bell so he did extremely well to finish as close as she did. She is meeting a top field in the Shepparton Trotters Oaks this evening. CRESCO MOJITO held the inside advantage early then took a trail behind LOVE GUN and battled into a distant third. She is racing at Bendigo on Tuesday night and strikes a reasonable assignment. CINKARI was three back on the markers throughout and beat home IM BOBBY (4 back markers) and SPEEDY LOVER (Love You – Right Interest 1.59.7, $202,096) was tailed off throughout after galloping at the start.

Mile Rate: - 2.3.9            Last Half: - 59.3                Margins: - 10m, 15m

Trial 2: - THAT’S ART (Modern Art – That’s Reality) began very quickly to find the lead and rolled along at an even tempo. He dashed away at the finish to win by a comfortable margin. ALWAYS LOCKSLEY (Always B Miki – Vouvray 2.0.4, $8,555) settled five back on the markers with his head held low and really picked up nicely over the concluding stages to finish in second spot. He was heavily supported on the fixed odds markets at Yarra Valley on Thursday and performed well to finish fourth behind the undefeated pacer Potro. SHAKEN SANDS (Sunshine Beach – Major Missile 1.58.8, $8,073) trailed the leader throughout and tried hard for third position. SERENGETI SUNRISE (Somebeachsomewhere – Jo Louleonie 2.0.6, $30,650) was in the one out and one back trail, came out wide on the home turn and finished nicely, despite racing greenly in the home straight. ALIZA HILL (Racing Hill – Abstract Lady 1.57.4, $27,170) finished fifth after having a decent crack for the lead but was left stranded on the outside of the winner throughout. WAITINGNORUNS (Caesar Augustus – Beadsnbangles) was last of the six runners throughout and was under pressure from the 700m mark.

Mile Rate: - 2.2.1            Last Half: - 58.2                Margins: - 8m, 1m

Trial 3: - ONE BIG SHEW trailed the leader in the early stages and ended up being three back on the markers. He moved away from the inside at the 500m mark and proved too strong in the run to finish to continue his impressive run of form at the trials. JEMSOMS PET was last of the six early, made a run at the mile marker and found the lead with 1200m remaining. He ran a nice race for second and backed up at Melton on Wednesday, where he locked wheels with 500m remaining and stormed home at the end. VINTAGE BLU did a very good job to finish in third position after he pulled hard throughout. He trailed the leader, worked around to lead at the 1600m, took cover behind JEMSOMS PET shortly afterwards and used the sprint lane at the end. ABETTASECRET ended up being four back on the markers and finished off boldly for fourth. It was a strong trial and he is perfectly drawn at Shepparton tonight so he should run a good race. HOLSTEIN was five back on the markers, moved into the one out and one back trail at the 500m mark and finished fifth, ahead of SHARMEY, which was always in a rearward position.

Mile Rate: - 2.1.2            Last Half: - 57.9                Margins: - 4m, head

Trial 4: - RED FOURTEEN was driven very aggressively from his wide draw and found the lead on the first turn. He always appeared to be in control and dashed away to score comfortably. He backed up with a debut victory at Kilmore on Tuesday. HERITAGE LADY produced a big effort to finish in second position. She settled down last of the nine runners and with the field being in single file, she was a long way behind the winner RED FOURTEEN in the early stages. She moved into the death seat at the 1100m, found a one out and one back trail at the 700m and came out three horses wide when leaving the back straight, making ground at the end. She is meeting a couple of handy types in the ninth event at Shepparton this evening but she performed well enough in the trial to suggest she can run a good race. TERROR OF LOCKSLEY settled four back on the inside and moved up without cover with 700m remaining. He held on well for fourth and backed up at Yarra Valley on Thursday where he finished unplaced after working hard in the first circuit. SMOOTH ROLLING trailed the leader, moved away from the inside at the 400m mark and finished in fourth position. LESTER began well and angled across to be three back on the markers. He trailed the leader on the home turn and used the sprint lane but couldn’t extend over the latter stages. The trotter SULTAN SASS was six back on the markers and was badly blocked for a run over the concluding stages. She was virtually running over wheels looking for a clear passage late and it was an eye-catching performance. She is the emergency for the Shepparton Trotters Cup this evening. LIKEAVEEEIGHT was five back on the markers and was able to beat home OUR CHRISTIANO (7 back markers) and TEX GOES BANG was the last one to complete the course after being in a rearward position for the majority of the journey.

Mile Rate: - 2.0.1            Last Half: - 57.6                Margins: - 12m, 2m

He returns from a break at Maryborough on Monday and he should prove hard to beat. OZZIE SUNSHINE took the trail behind CAPTAIN BELLASARIO and battled into second position.
