It could be a big night for the Blackbook at Bendigo tonight with four selections to step out.
Maiden Miramanee will contest the first for Nathan Purdon, the Gold Central Victoria 3YO Maiden Pace, and then a further three Blackbookers will contest the Garrards Horse & Hound 3YO Trot.
Kings Guard ($4.20 with TAB), Iron Love ($5) and Harry Stamper ($2) will start from gates seven, eight and 12 respectively in the three-year-old trot having all impressed on the trials circuit.
This week a further three horses were added to the Blackbook, details and replays below.
BACCHUS MARSH 23/04/22
Trial 2: – SEBS CHOICE and stable mate ALBY TWO CHAINS had a final hit-out before contesting a heat of the Australian Gold at Ballarat on Wednesday night. SEBS CHOICE won the trial in a handy mile rate of 1.58.7 with ALBY TWO CHAINS being two metres behind. They finished fourth and sixth respectively in their heat of the Australian Gold behind Beyond Delight. The third horse across the line was LEER, which is making her return to racing at Shepparton on Tuesday night and should put in a big performance. OUR BELLA LUCIA finished fourth on the way to her unplaced Australian Gold heat effort behind Ladies In Red on Wednesday night so it was a quality trial.
Mile Rate: – 1.58.7 Last Half: – 58.0 Margins: – 2m, 6m
BLACKBOOKER: – Leer NZ
Trial 4: – QUEEN ELIDA was able to defeat the pacers in the fourth event. She remained undefeated in seven starts during her last preparation and it will be interesting to see how she shapes up in the Vulcan Trotters FFA at Melton tomorrow night. It is her first attempt at the open class and she has unfortunately drawn on the outside of the front line. She won the trial by two metres over SASSCILIAN and RENDEZVOUS was third.
Mile Rate: – 1.59.7 Last Half: – 59.1 Margins: – 2m, 15m
CRANBOURNE 24/04/22
Trial 1: – GINA DEL RAY was able to trail the leader MALIBU RIKKI, used the sprint lane and got the prize. There was nothing startling about the time recorded but GINA DEL RAY is a juvenile by Captaintreacherous out of the former top mare Magical Delight (Bettor’s Delight), which won ten races and nearly $100,000 in stakes so she might be worth following.
Mile Rate: – 2.1.3 Last Half: – 58.3 Margins: – 1.5m, 4.5m
BENDIGO 24/04/22
Trial 2: – ITZMINEONTHELINE progressed forward to find the lead at the 1300m and was able to hold on and get the prize over MAJOR MILESTONE, which took the trail behind him. He wasn’t overly exerted to get the prize and his dam Inna Spring is a daughter of the top race mare Under The Mattress, which produced the champion pacer Smolda (1.50.6, 2,415,738). He makes his debut at Shepparton on Tuesday night and should run a good race.
Mile Rate: – 2.3.3 Last Half: – 61.4 Margins: – Nose, 5m
Trial 5: – The Super Series Champion EBONYS AVENGER made her return with an effortless victory over MONTANA CHEVELLE, which chased hard in second. She powered out from the outside of the front line to find the lead and dominated her rivals throughout with MONTANA CHEVELLE taking the cover behind her. The fifth placed INSPIRE put in a tidy performance after missing away in the score up and losing approximately 80m at the start.
Mile Rate: – 2.5.2 Last Half: – 59.1 Margins: – 4m, 20m
Trial 9: – WARRANTEE is a son of Guaranteed for trainer Mark Thompson and has won several trials leading up to his debut performance at Swan Hill on Sunday. He trailed the leader, came to the outside with 400m remaining and won with plenty in reserve so he appears to be very promising.
Mile Rate: – 2.0.7 Last Half: – 59.1 Margins: – 6m, 4m
BLACKBOOKER: – Warrantee
Trial 10: – BOXOFCHOCOLATES is a fast mare that has won seven of her thirteen starts and boasts a career best mile rate of 1.51.5. She hasn’t started since September but appeared to be very sharp in winning the final trial over OUTLOOK and HAIR RAZOR. She commenced from the second line, settled last of the three runners, raced keenly and finished strongly to win by a comfortable margin.
Mile Rate: – 2.1.5 Last Half: – 57.9 Margins: – 5m, 5m
STAWELL 25/04/22
Trial 1: – GERRALE is a juvenile filly by Bling It On out of the race winning mare All Agog. She won the opening trial by 78m in a mile rate of 2.0.1 so she obviously has ability. She defeated the Aaron Dunn trained pair YOU BEAUTY and LITTLE LOUIE, both of which are juveniles that are yet to make their debut.
Mile Rate: – 2.0.1 Last Half: – 60.6 Margins: – 78m, 2m
TABCORP PARK, MELTON 26/04/22
Trial 2: – MISS BAY KING COLE recorded a very soft win over the New Zealand bred filly SEVEN SHILLINGS with JOHNTHEBULLSHARK finishing third. She settled down in last position, left the pegs at the 500m and won with something in hand. She is related to three winners including Regal Rock (1.53.9) and Nifty Studleigh (1.55.2) and her dam is a daughter of the top New Zealand mare Ok Rock.
Mile Rate: – 2.4.8 Last Half: – 58.97 Margins: – 4m, head
TRIAL 4: – ANOTHER NIEN began quickly from a wide draw and was able to slide to the front shortly after the start. He appeared to be in danger of defeat when NANCY KAY loomed up on his outside but he kicked back strongly to get the prize. He is making his debut at Shepparton on Tuesday night, where he should be very competitive.
Mile Rate: – 1.59.9 Last Half: – 57.83 Margins: – ½ Head, 13m
Trial 6: – RUBINS PLIGHT has only had two starts to date and his latest appearance was a victory at Terang in December. He was impressive in taking out the sixth event from OUR TRUE COLOURS as he showed good gate speed, led clearly and scored untouched so he is worth following.
Mile Rate: – 1.59.7 Last Half: – 59.83 Margins: – 9m, Head
BLACKBOOKER: – Rubins Plight
Trial 8: – SOEXTRA prepared for his effort at Melton tomorrow night with a strong win in fast time. He led throughout and recorded a slick last quarter of 27.28 seconds so he will be competitive tomorrow evening but he faces a tricky draw on the inside of the second line.
Mile Rate: – 1.57.4 Last Half: – 56.89 Margins: – 8.5m, 2.5m
Trial 11: – ULTIMATE STRIDE finalised his preparation for the Vulcan Trotters FFA tomorrow night with a tidy victory over ALDEBARAN TESS. He led out, took cover behind ALDEBARAN TESS and stretched out beautifully at the end to win comfortably by seven metres in a slick mile rate of 1.57.7. ALDEBARAN TESS raced roughly and hung out in the home straight but she finished well clear of DONTOUCH THE DUCO (3 back pegs), which finished in third.
Mile Rate: – 1.57.7 Last Half: – 58.88 Margins: – 7m, 20m
