Well-known Charlton owner, breeder, trainer and driver Lindsay Hobbs passed away on January 13 aged 94.
Known affectionally as Snow, he raced, trained and drove horses, but none better than home bred Findsumore.
The gelding, by Scottish Bret from Befana Gem, recorded 25 wins and 47 placings from 191 outings, earning stakes of almost $98,000 from 1985 to 1994.
Transferred to Ken Whelan at Smeaton in 1990 when leased to stable clients, Findsumore raced consistently, winning races at Hamilton, Ouyen and Moonee Valley as well as running numerous placings along the way.
At one stage he made a quick visit to South Australia and won a Free For All at Murray Bridge returning a fast mile rate at that time of 1:59.1 after running second at Globe Derby two nights earlier.
Lindsay and late wife Marj had seven children – Kelvin (Dec), Leslie (Dec), Ian, Rob, Brendan, Peter and Sharon.
His funeral will be held at the Charlton Uniting Church on Thursday at 1.30pm prior to burial at the Charlton Cemetery.
Harness Racing Victoria sends condolences to the Hobbs family and friends.
