The barrier draws for the 2020 Alabar and Aldebaran Park Vicbred Super Series (VSS20) finals were conducted this morning live on Thetrots.com.au’s Facebook page.
The final fields for 10 of the Vicbred Super Series finals are listed below, with the four-year-old trotters' still heats to be contested tonight at Shepparton live on Trots Vision.
2YO PACING COLTS AND GELDINGS
Series favourite MAJOR MOTH has drawn barrier nine and TAB has him $1.55 compared to fellow Semi-Final winner IDYLLIC (gate two – one if the emergency is scratched), who is $2.3. BLITZERN, who finished runner-up to MAJOR MOTH in the Semi-Final has a nice draw in gate three.

2YO PACING FILLIES
Advantage TOUGH TILLY at the barrier draw with gate two, but will it be enough for her to turn the tables on her unbeaten stablemate LADIES IN RED, who must overcome barrier eight? TAB says LADIES IN RED is a $1.65 favourite with TOUGH TILLY $2.8. JOANNA – also from the Emma Stewart yard – is the other filly in single digits at $9.5 despite drawing gate seven.

2YO TROTTING COLTS AND GELDINGS
UTOPIA was backed into $2.2 after drawing barrier five (in from $2.5 to start the day). KEAYANG NINJA drifted from $2.3 to $2.4 with his barrier 10 draw, while DONT CARE (gate 6), ILLAWONG BARMAH (gate 12 and first emergency) and ALDEBARAN ZEUS (gate 13) are $7.5, $8.5 and $7.5 respectively.
2YO TROTTING FILLIES
All the early money at TAB came for ALDEBARAN URSULA despite drawing barrier 11 on the back row, the Andy Gath-trained speedster in from $6 to $4.5. Both heat winners BANGLEZ (gate 1) and EVAS IMAGE (gate 8) drifted from $2.8 to $3.4 and $2.8 to $3.2 respectively despite securing peg-line starting positions. SENITAS STRENGTH was specked in from $7 to $6 after securing barrier 6.
3YO PACING COLTS AND GELDINGS
PACIFICO DREAM opened very short today at $1.5 and only got shorter despite drawing gate 9 this morning – now into $1.4 with TAB. BEAT CITY is $9 after securing barrier 2, while MIRRAGON is $5.5 and SAHARA SIROCCO $7 from what looks a suitable gate 8 draw.
3YO PACING FILLIES
MAAJIDA is $3.5 to $2.8 despite drawing inside the back row for the final, while AMELIA ROSE drifted today from $1.9 to $2.1 after securing barrier 7. ITS BEAUJOLAIS is $7.5 from barrier four, while STARSBYTHEBEACH has been tried in from $14 to $11 after pulling gate 2.
3YO TROTTING COLTS AND GELDINGS
Unbeaten COVER OF DARKNESS is a commanding favourite at $1.6 from his back-row gate 10 draw. CRACKER JET drew favourably in two and is $6.5, while IS THAT A BID (gate 6) and POWDERKEG (gate 8) are on the next line at $7.5, marginally ahead of NO BIGGIE (gate 1) at $9.5.

ILLAWONG STARDUST is in the red at $1.9 for the final here but must circumnavigate most of her rivals from barrier 11. ARAIGNEE FLAIR is right in play at $4 after securing the pole, while IMAMAORIJET (gate 6) is $4.2 and OFORTUNA (gate 8) at $7 have plenty of admirers. GOLDEN SUNSET might be one at odds after securing a terrific barrier two position. She is $15.
4YO PACING ENTIRES AND GELDINGS
Well, LOCHINVAR ART has opened almost as short as you get at $1.15 after drawing pole position for the VSS20 final. HURRICANE HARLEY looks his main adversary at $7.5, but will have to overcome gate 6, while OUT TO PLAY at $16 will certainly have fans after securing barrier 3. MALCOLMS RHYTHM is also in the mix at $16 from inside the back row.
4YO PACING MARES
The chances of OUR PRINCESS TIFFANY appear to have only improved courtesy of a barrier 2 draw, with logical threats MISS MCGONAGALL (gate 6) and TWO TIMES BETTOR (gate 8) having to overcome trickier positions.
