“It’s a beautifully balanced IRT New Zealand Cup,” says Mick Guerin, who joined Greg O’Connor to break down Tuesday’s great race on The Box Seat.
Guerin said the addition of Victorian Rock N Roll Doo and New South Wales hope Majestic Cruiser added significantly to the hype around the Kiwi’s biggest race day.
“Great to have our Australian friends here, they add such an element; to have a defending champion; to have the first ever winner of the Race By Grins here and a three-year-old,” Guerin said.
O’Connor was similarly buoyant.
“I dont know that there’s been so many avenues and ways for horses to get to this great race, but gee it’s close now.”
